Does anyone have any credible reason to believe that the '05 will have the LS2 or LS6? There are rumors all over the place but are there any credible sources for these rumors? Please email me.

Besides the Chicago Sun Times story today that said it. Coming from an interview with Wangers who is currently an outsider that is a consultant on the GTO and its marketing for Pontiac. He has also just received the GTO he ordered, the first 2004 GTO off the production line. One of the perks you get for making the original GTO the marketing success it was. Now if you're looking for some official GM statement to confirm this, get real. GM needs to sell the 2004s before the start shocking everyone with the 2005s.

Well weve heard from an actual holden factory worker that there are pilot production gto's going down the line with hood scoops. They even have minders following making sure no own take a picture.

Thanks for the replys. Sounds like the '05 will be worth waiting for. I'm all about the LS2/LS6+hoodscoops for my future GTO.

The 05 will have the new LS2. I can not reveal my source but he is 100% creditable.

Does his name rhyme with Stutz?

No, but his level is very close to Lutz. He also told me that is why he didn't buy one for himself this year. He is going to order his '05 in July.

Not to discredit your source, (not sure who he is) but the Product Manager that I know knows of no such LS2. The GTO at SEMA did have LS6 heads, but that was the furthest that it went.

The 05 GTO will have an optional hood with scoops. There is also talk of routing the dual exhaust out of both sides. This is NOT confirmed as of yet.
