: NJ GTO Owners?
bigalswantsagto 02-13-2004, 01:12 PM I know of 2 people that have black ones. One I have talked too. I thought I had seen his car, but it turned out it wasnt him. So it had to be another one! There might even be 3 black GTO's as a dealer by me said he was getting a GTO in, but I have yet to see it on the lot, and I check every day on my way home from work or school.
JJ_NJ 02-16-2004, 10:15 AM Just a quick note.....I have talked to my salesman who has been verifing the current location of my car. It will arrive at the dealership in Flemington towards the end of this week. I am hopeful that I will have it either by this end of this week or the beginning of the next......
yourguyry 02-24-2004, 12:22 PM Hey, I too am getting a GTO and live in Jersey. I am getting Yellow with Black interior. The only thing is i will be getting Delaware plates, as that is where i go to school. The reason for getting it in Delaware is one no tax in Delaware, two there will be no front plate on it. As all Jersey people know we have to have two plates, so from the dealer they screw holes in front bumper. I didn't want that so i work my way to get Delaware license to get the car registered in Delaware. Even though i live in Scotch Plains, Jersey. It should be coming in sometime in march. :knightrider:
gphilpo 02-28-2004, 09:34 AM Got mine in late January - black on black with A4. Due to weather & work schedule it only has 475 miles on it so far. Some minor paint issues, other then that the car is great. Will be talking to dealer this week to get paint fixed.
We need to get these cars together. I wonder if Raceway Park has a Pontiac show in their schedule? If so we could meet up their.

I'm in Bergen. I also have Black/Black A4. I had scratches on the right side of the car. I couldn't get them out with swirl remover. I also noticed several minor swirl marks in the paint over the rest of the car. I have 525mi on mine - Purchased in late January.
I was told by the dealer that it looked like I ran into a bush, thus getting the scratches on the side. What BS!! I think their detailer did a ****py job prior to delivery. I don't look at the right side of the car often and discovered the problem when I washed it.
digitalgod 03-12-2004, 12:57 AM I suppose you believed the boy in the MSN commercial that said he dug a hole to China too.
JCMGTX 03-15-2004, 08:51 AM I'm not in NJ but I'm only 15 min from the river. I'm in SE PA, just NW of Philly.
gphilpo 03-19-2004, 08:32 PM Johmol - your dealer sounds like he sucks. You spent $35K and get treated like **** - not good.
I would go back to Pontiac Customer Service and see if they can get the car fixed at reputable dealer. I think Pontiac is starting to lean over backwards to make sure they don't get anymore bad press/word of mouth on these cars. The reason I say this is that when the Pontiac rep called the other day - I mentioned that I was having a paint problem (hadn't called the dealer yet) - he said that if the problem wasn't fixed to call the Customer Service line ASAP - he wanted me to report it right then, but I had to get to a doctors appointment.
I took mine to the dealer yesterday more spots have popped up, after another wash. They looked at it and the owner said - no problem, just bring it back for it's 2000 mile check up and they will repaint the front bumper and drivers fender (and anywhere else that shows up). Their view was that the clear coat had problems and by driving it for a while they could make sure they got all of the issues in one shot.
Are you getting pin hole spots also? I have about a dozen so far all the way down to the primer. In addition - the leading edge under the drivers head light has a 3 inch strip of peel about 3/8ths of an inch wide.
Still only have about 550 miles on it. Now that the weather is clearing - it may be time for a few long trips to really out it through it' paces.
bigalswantsagto 03-26-2004, 06:58 AM wow, some of you guys live real close to me! I live in Ocean Twp (near Asbury, Neptune, and Eatontown). I saw 4 GTO's in toms river at Lester-Glen. A blue, red, black, and yellow. All had mark up. They had a $300 mark up for an "appearance package" that I failed to notice.
Then there was a 2,800 tag on to the Yellow one. I have also seen about 4 more, but the other 4 were 2 black, 2 silver.
Id love to see your cars! As the co-founder(guess you can say that) of NJfbody.com, I would like to invite any of you guys that want to meet up with a few of us Fbody guys. I know a lot of fbody owners in the crew that do love the GTO, so dont think that all us fbody owners are PITA, I know Im not(look at the name!) Anyway, So if you are interested in meeting up with us, we have a meet at the Fudruckers in Bridgewater on Rt22. Its every 2nd tuesday of every month at 6:30pm. We usualy have about 30 guys show up, but thats with this weather we have been having. Also, we are getting ready for summer meets, and more meets in the Toms River area where everyone seems to hang out on 37. I hang out at the Super stop and shop with friends as its dark and the cops dont bug you much. If you have any questions, please email me or IM me at BigAls87Z28. I dont check this site often, so please if your thinking about coming you can email, IM me or check out NJfbody.com (sorry for the shamless plug Branden).
JJ_NJ 03-27-2004, 12:05 PM Hey NJ guys,,,
I am located in Somerset County, Bridgewater Area....
About 2-weeks ago, I picked up my GTO from Flemington Pontiac.
It is the Torrid Red with the 6 speed.
So far, I would categorize it as follows:
Looks-Great...this is obviously a personal view. I like the low-key look about it.
I do not need hood scoups.
Ride-Great....Solid, Great road feel. Handles great. Now mind you, I am not the type of driver who would or could put this car through the paces.
Sound-Great..I love the sound of the exhaust. It brings me back to my youth. OK, now you know that I am one of those old farts who is attempting to be young again.
Gas mileage-Who Cares. If this is a consideration, you really need to purchase a Toyota Pirus.....Although I must admit that the talk of $3.00 a gallon does not make me feel good.
Fun Factor-Great.....I do enjoy getting into the car each morning, starting it up, hearing the rumble, and simply driving the car.
Speed-Fast Enough...When I was younger, this was more important as I would always put my cars through their paces. However, now, I simply like the feel of the power and like to know that it is there if I need it. This will be a great car for
someone to purchase if I ever decide to sell it.
Lease Arrangements-Not Good....As most cars usually have a deal from the factory with respect to Leasing, this one did not. So, my monthly Lease Payments are more then what I originally anticipated.
DEAD PEDAL-Terrible...Of course this is because there is none. It would be easy for them to stick something there to similate one. Even if there were an after-market stick on, I would surely purchase one.
Previous Owned Cars...67 Corvette(435hp), 66 Corvette(450hp), 59 Corvette, 58 Corvette, 69 Corvette(390hp), 72 Corvette(365hp), 72 Corvette(330hp), 68 Corvette(350hp), 2-57 Thunderbirds(293hp), 67 Buick Rivera(360hp), 87 Buick Regal T-Type, 96 Camero Z28(280hp)....etc......
With all of the above being said, this GTO is a great Car to drive and enjoy.
bigalswantsagto 03-28-2004, 05:59 AM nice review, and quite a nice collection of cars you have driven. But, you misspelled Camaro. :D
anyway, you live right in bridgewater! You are welcome to come and hang with us fbody guys. You can email me if you are interested.
2004Goat 07-09-2004, 03:10 PM I live in Ridgewood. That's about exit 165 on the parkway.
I love the ride quality and the torque is always a plus. Borla cat back ads a nice pitch out the rear along with a little extra hp combined with the cold air kit.
Like JJ_NJ said there's no dead pedal. It would come in really handy when making hard right turns. This way I don't have to fight to stay in the seat.
If we can set a meeting point that's about halfway for all of us that would be great.
Enjoy your goats, I gotta go :pyth: on some imports.
