I have always wondered what you all think of it....

I bet to you it looks like a caracture of the Monaro..

Likes: the extra power and (apparently) the exhaust sound.

Dislikes: the nose styling and the spoiler.

Shame about the fuel tank reducing the trunk size, but them's the breaks.

I guess it's also a little irritating to witness all the "it's not a real GTO" and "it looks like a rentacar" comments from some quarters.

No, it's not a real GTO, it's a real Monaro that's been made plainer. If you think a performance car should carry half a ton of fibreglass, you just don't get it.

As for the rentacar comments - the Monaro's a rather colour-sensitive car. It does look plain in silver, for instance. But it's sleek and quite sophisticated in style, rather than hitting onlookers between the eyes.

It's a grand tourer in the true sense of the term rather than a straight-line street racer (though I'm sure it'll do that quite nicely too!).

Having said all the above, it's nice to see the level of support for the car on this board.

Oh - and no, I don't drive one but I'm working on it!

I like it, I like the looks of the monaro better though. I really think pontiac should of thought this through more though. Ie they should of spent 6 more months, doing some research, adding some options. They should at least of had the option of a ram air hood, since so many people seem to want it.

Its a good program for holden though.

I agree with Gromit.. not much a fan of the nose or the spoiler. I think the grills would look better if they had been tunneled a bit. And I dont know what I would want in a spoiler.. or if, for that matter.

Either way, If the previous car had lived that long, id be driving the GTO now, instead of the 04 Grand Prix I have, now. I like them both, actually.

i love the GTO exhaust note ... well what it sound like on pontiac's web site but i am bringing a GTS kit and HSV badges with me on the plane on friday because im not a fan of the front grill
