I race normally at Maryland International Raceway and sometimes at Cecil County Dragway...I prefer MIR though.

Mostly Maple Grove because it's only 30 minutes from where I live. Cecil County sometimes. That is where I turned 13.3@104 with my 2004 GTO.

I like MIR the best of all the MD tracks. Cecil would come in second. Then others would follow: Capitol, Mason Dixon and 75-80.

I lived 5 minutes away from Capitol for over 20 years and still only went a handful of times. Now I'm only about 10 minutes from 75-80 and haven't been there since we moved up here. Still do the 2 hour drive to MIR.

Only one track in my area, Pacific Raceway. Used to be called Seattle International Raceway. They just installed a new 600 foot launching area for the new season that starts this month.

Carlsbad Ca. The home of great air and poor traction.

Sears Point, I mean Infineon Raceway, aw who am I kidding its still Sears Point. Screw all that sponsor stuff. Sears is a good place for Wednesday night drags. On the weekends though it is up to Sacramento Raceway. Small track with huge cars.

What is the deal with your 68. Verdoro green is the best color for 68. It has gold interior. Is it stock, and do the #match. Also what motor does it have, HO, standard, ram air II( that would be awsome).

Never been on a Drag strip with the GOAT, I would rather run for 20-30 minutes at a time and reach speeds of 130Mph rather than race for 14 seconds at a time and only to 110mph,

I do open lapping with a car club on road race tracks.

Been to Nelson Ledges Ohio several times.

BeaveRun MotorSports ComPlex in Pennsylvania ,

Going to run on mid-Ohio in July and

Going to run at GingerMan Raceway in Michigan in Agust.

I invite all GTO owners to experience their car in it's native environment "rally road racing" like V8 Supercars, any car can run in a straight line (boring), your car is meant to come screaming out of a tight turn and run for the next.

I don't mean to slam on drag racing. I love watching 7000Hp NHRA funny and rail dragsters chew up tires, blowers, heads, pistons etc...
But my GTO is my daily driver and drag racing to win is really hard on a car, were lapping a race track can seriously reduce the life of your tires and brakes, it's far easier on the car than dragging.

How so? Your still putting the engine at full throttle for most of the ap unless your braking, in which you downshift and get the RPM up or you acellerate out of the turn...
