First Look At USA Network's "The Last Ride"

DETROIT - Basketball fans will get their first peek at a new "teaser" trailer for The Last Ride, the new Rob Cohen-created film starring Dennis Hopper and featuring the Pontiac GTO, during this weekend's NCAA Final Four tournament. The movie, executive produced by the director of The Fast and the Furious and xXx, will first air on Wednesday, June 2, from 8:00 - 10 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network.

"When we first got a look at some of the 'dailies' from the set, the material was just too exciting to sit on until May or June," said Dino Bernacchi, Pontiac advertising manager. "With all of the energy at the NCAA tournament this weekend, we thought we'd give fans a sneak peek of what will be exploding onto their television screens on June 2."

"What we're doing at the tournament is a perfect example of the terrific promotional opportunities built into a unique project like The Last Ride," said Sarah Beatty, senior vice president of marketing for USA Network. "When a partner like Pontiac-GMC brings this much passion, enthusiasm and commitment to a USA production, the potential for creative marketing increases dramatically."

In addition to the 30-second commercial, a preview website for the film has been established at www.pontiac.com/thelastride. Early photos from the production as well as other information about the film are available.

"The website will become even more important in the coming weeks as we roll out a fan sweepstakes for the film," said Bernacchi. "We're still finalizing our plans, but fans will have the opportunity to become very involved in the days to come."

The Last Ride is an action-packed, wild ride starring Dennis Hopper (Easy Rider, Speed, Blue Velvet), Will Patton (Gone in Sixty Seconds, Armageddon, The Agency), Fred Ward (The Right Stuff, The Player, Road Trip) and Chris Carmack (The O.C., Bring it on Again). The GTO, in both its classic and modern form, serves as an important "character" within the story.

Looks cool.

Should give the GTO and Pontiac some great exposure (if enough people watch) like Smokey and the Bandit and Knight Rider.

do you know the release date yet for the DVD? I also heard there is a soundtrack coming out. This movie I heard is like a pilot and can be made into a TV show.
