dang i want to see a race between the 2005 GTO and a late model Cobra.

The Cobra driver will have a great seat for the race.

Dude, I like totally don't even have a cobra. That was like my stepdad, duh. Cobra's suck we all know that. They have the worst performance per dollar value of any car.

its the 1fast4d i like. Ya cobras suck ****. They are pieces. The 05 GTO will destroy one. Not to mention be more comftorale, with more lux, and better looking. Plus rarer, and with the name of the first muscle car on it( not the first pony car :tongue: )

My 3 attempts at street racing:

1. Lost to a Jeep Liberty driving a Chevy Venture minivan.

2. Raced in my GTO but picked a Kawasaki crotch rocket that goes 0 to 100 in like 3 secs. Lost horribly.

3. Raced in my GTO and killed a Chrysler Crossfire. Not much of a match. Like pitting a Rottweiler against a poodle. One is all business, the other one is nice and cute and pretty.


But I have raced many many other folks over the internet in some really nail biting bench racing....

Cmon guys it's not Ford vs GM anymore. It's the imports that we gotta look out for. Well, the fast ones at least. As long as it has 8 cylinders and American it's all good.

Yes the Cobra has a huffer on it, but it still goes about 110 mph through the traps while the GTO goes about 105 mph. Even though I had the choice of going with the Cobra I chose the GTO for the craftsmanship and I love it.

IMO its GM vs. The rest. All other companies have something to bring to the market, and its us GTO guys vs. all of them.

Cobra may be American but its still competition.

64gto I still like Cobra's a lot, that was sarcasm. I however dislike most of the drivers. I went to the local drag strip last night and there was some guy with an 03 cobra there, I tried to talk to him and he wouldn't give me the time of day. I told him I liked his car and that my stepdad had one. He said, "and what do you have?" I told him a pretty much stock 91 talon tsi. He asked me if I had anything planned for it and I told him a "bigger turbo" if I would have said something like a big 16g he prolly wouldn't have understood. He just laughed and said and I quote, "get lost kid." What a punk

Any way 1fast4d i do agree, most ford guys are ****s. I dont like mustangs but i respect the new cobras. They have power. Thats why im glad for 05 the GTO will have the power to take them on :friday:

-Driving on the Interstate in NJ
-Traffic is going 20-30 MPH
-Along my right side comes a kid in a CLK55
-He's revving his motor to redline, leans out his window and begs me to race
-We both slow to near stop
-He counts to three and we go
-He clearly saw the 5.7 on my trunk all the way to the line of traffic ahead
-We did this again a half dozen times, he got me only once when I hit the wrong gear

I couldn't help but wonder how he felt about his 60k car getting beat up by my Goat


I've raced many times, but this guy was crazy, and it was fun.

I'm still hoping the rain goes away and we get to see Howie run our buddy w/ the mystichrome 'vert tonight...
