Why 400hp and not 400tq? Was it torque management? If so - All we need is a chip...anyone know anything about the topic?

It's called exhaust, nothing different in the calibration that I've seen so far.

I imagine its just a rating so that the vette seems faster, see 400HP CTSV and not 405HP CTSV.

Bingo!
Two identical cars will vary more than that on a dyno.

He is trying to say that why is the 05 gtos specs not the same as the 05 vettes if its the same motor the reason is GM will never again make any car with more power or make a car faster than the Corvette
They only did it once in the 80's with the GN and they s****ed it after a few years

Just one question, not that's it's a bad thing, but can anyone tellme why GM didn't put the LS2 in the CTS-V. I know it's off subject here but it is pretty much a 4-door Corvette IMO and thought it should've gotten the LS2 right after the Corvette

My understanding is that Caddy is focusing their performance attentions on the to-be STS-V (or whatever-the-heck they decide to call it.) I think we should expect to see significant Northstar horsepower gains in the near future...

There is no "rule" that no car can have higher than the 'Vette. As far as the GN having more power rating, I think you'll find they weren't rated higher than the 'vette. Rating vs. actual is a different story. One car was rated higher than the 'Vette and that was the 89 Turbo Trans Am. 255 vs. 250. And was .5-1 second faster.

The 'Vette usually has better exhaust than other cars with the same engine, hence the different power ratings.
