: 2005 GTO Appearance Poll
geekoid 08-07-2004, 03:38 AM For those of you ordering, or thinking of ordering, or wishing you could order a 2005 GTO, how would you order it appearance wise? With the optional hood scoops and sport appearance package, we finally have some styling options from the factory. Or would you decide to go with some aftermarket parts? The decision is yours.
1964GTO 08-07-2004, 09:55 AM I would just like the stock 05 GTO. No spoiler or scoops delete. I like the exhaust of the autocross package but the rest of it is kinda tacky IMO.
GTO-TOM 08-07-2004, 10:16 AM I am looking forward to ordering the 05 w/appearance package, my understanding is that it does not come with the "standard spoiler". Does anyone out there have an apx price on this package? I am waiting on the price before I order.
Tom :)
radczr 08-07-2004, 10:41 AM B) I have already ordered my '05 with the hood-scoops and rear spoiler. Since the manufacturer is offering an appearance kit, I'm sure that in a very short time there will be many aftermarket appearance pieces available from many different sources.
BLKGTO 08-07-2004, 05:12 PM I'd like to keep the car stock with the exception of the wheels. Going to replace those with some real sharp ones (18" of course).
Nocturn 08-07-2004, 06:31 PM Stock rear and maybe no spoiler (have to see it in person), same applies with the autocross front end, but most likely no scoops.
Welcome to the board GTO-TOM.
hsvrichie 08-08-2004, 07:23 AM sorry, but what is the sports apperance pkg?
formula79 08-08-2004, 03:18 PM I want the scoops, the spoiler, and the body package:)

The Autocross front/rear end side skirts and spoiler that were displayed at last years Sema show...but since your an aussie im assuming you didnt catch those, do a search on here for the Autocross body kit or GTO.
fastcop 08-11-2004, 11:43 AM I apologize if I already missed this question being answered somewhere else, but are they going to offer the sports appearance package in any of the other colors....like YELLOW? :woot:
The only colors im seeing the package offered for black, silver and red.
gto_in_nc 08-11-2004, 11:47 AM Black, silver & red - that's it.
BRMike 08-11-2004, 12:26 PM I'm sure people are sick of me telling how I want to get one this November, but I can't help it! I do plan on getting a 2004 in a few months! Anyway, I really like the understated looks of the 2004. If I were to order an '05, I'd get it to look as close to the 2004 as I could. The only thing I'd change about the 2004 would be to give it a much smaller spoiler. When I do get the GTO, the first thing I plan to do is to get the skip shift eliminator.

The first couple of weeks I had the car, I thought the skip-shift thing was horrible! Over time, however, and before I ever got around to doing anything about it, I discovered that I noticed it less and less and that those few times when I do still encounter it are times when it really makes some sense. I occasionally shift from first to third rather than to fourth because it seems a more natural ratio step. I sometimes do that regardless of whether I activated CAGS or not...
JCS30TH 09-15-2004, 11:59 PM If I were to order one, I would order it without the factory hood with scoupes, gfe's or spoiler. Why?
The gto has been beaten to death on the plain looks. But I think the car would look much better with..
1. Recessed grills - I believe I read where they are availible now.
2. Different rear spoiler. Still have not seen one I like.
3. Aftermarket hood. So far the jury is out, nothign has grabbed me yet. MPD is the top choice so far.
4. The most expesive part. This car needs some wheels. PReferabley soemthing chrome 5 spoke with a 2" dish.. I doubt there is anything availible, or I have yet to see, so most likely I would have to have some custome axle's, front hubs mahcined with a different bolt pattern.......
PetersonPeleRx8 09-16-2004, 12:27 AM I want the '05 GTO Judge concept car (orange one) exactly.. just without the hood... I want that exact car but with a stock hood.
O yeah, definitely need the normal dual exhaust as well. But yeah, that car.
Does anyone know what body kit is on that car? is that the Autocross kit?

The orange one? The orange one is unique and not the autocross kit, the red one thats in someones avatar is the autocross kit.
ydtrack 09-16-2004, 11:20 AM The orange one is the Woodward Dream Cruise car, just because it is orange does not make it a Judge.

PetersonPeleRx8 09-16-2004, 11:21 PM right on thanks for the pics ydtrack... the red car looks killer, with the exception of the side runner extension things... they look like they were just thrown on for the hell of it.. to much bend or something... i think so at least

Personaly, I think the stock ones look out of place and the ones with the sport package look good. Of course everyone has their own preference.
ydtrack 09-17-2004, 11:02 AM I like the autocross kit, but I am not sure if I like the rear body kit and different spoiler. I will have to check it out in person at SEMA.
