o.k. , as t&a of springhill fl . will vouc it has done nothing but rain here along the west coast of florida for the last 3 weeks ,, so have not really had a chance to enjoy the car , except sitting in it in the garage  , so in the mean time i have been on internet over load looking for different modding possibilities ! am real confussed on want to have done ! first instinct was to slap on headers ( i am very old school ) but as i have fished around ,maybe i should look into a dyno tune first , which to me means i HAVE to trust that someone will do whats right as i have no knowledge of the computer systems in new cars , also keep in mind that i have an a4 car and seem to have that same little hesitation that so many others have complained about . so does it make more sense to have the computer "worked " on first or should i go and do bolt on mods first see how the car reacts ,and then do a dyno tune ? also one other thought , i have less than 200 miles on the car , should i just wait and accumulate some more miles first ! i'm not looking to make a 12 sec car here ,just make the car a better performer. thanks gary p.s. yes i do know to turn off the traction control

Well I going to take the advice of the Owner of McNamara Pontiac. What he did on his GTO was to take it down to a local speed shop and have the chip reprogrammed. Saves money on buying a programmer. Reprogramming and a few other cheap mods gave him close to 400 HP.

I would get more miles on it first, at least get it past the 500 mile break in, after that I would do some mods and then get it tuned/programmed as you dont want to have to re-tune the engine after you do more mods.

the only question on the dyno tuning, is what would you do if you have to take the car in for any kind of warranty work ? if i take the car somewhere and they change the computer peramiters then something goes wrong shoud'nt i return the settings to stock which would mean i'd have to some how get the car back to the tuner to return the settings even if i have to tow it there , or will the tuner come out to the car and reset them , or do they give you the means to do it yourself at home after you leave their place ? sorry if it may seem like a self explanetory question, but would like to know what some of you have done or would do should this situation arise . parts i can swap easy enough , but computers (read above ! ) . thanks in advance ! gary . think i will wait until i do hit atleast 500 miles before any mods .

well If you do an aftermarket programmer from an company like HPPP than you can switch back and forth on the same car as often as you want. But a tuner shop may not give you the option if you need to.
