: Any free/basic mods like the F-body?

Having owned several F-bodies, what kind of free/cheap mods are out there?

IE, is there a way to disable the DRL's on this car, like you can on the F-cars? They drive me nuts.

Skip shift eliminator- Same parts apply, can we use the resistor mod?

How 'bout the IAT sensor? Can it be relocated/tricked into reading cooler air, to advance the timing? I've got the K&N setup on order, does it relocate the IAT sensor?

Headers- Is SLP or anyone else planning on them? I really don't want to have to drop the steering rack as with the Stainless Works setup, and I definately need long tubes w/ the cam/head setup I'm installing next week.
;)
Finally, would anyone be interested in a low-cost header/exhaust for this car? My friend has a mandrel bending machine, and is going to make me a full 2 1/2" exhaust, and could sell others, with/without cats or mufflers. They would be aluminized steel, to keep cost down.

If anyone can think of any other cost effective mods, let me know.

You won't see that big of a gain with new exhaust(catback) like you would in an fbody as the GTO exhaust is pretty effeciant as it is. But there are many companies planning GTO long tubes, unfortunatly they are all still in development that I know of, you may want to double check with Howie (arrowhead performance) to see if he has any though.

I almost certain that you won't have to drop the steering rack as the GTO engine bay, is well, look at it, the engine isn't under the windsheild.

But seing as its the same engine and drivetrain as an fbody, I imagine that you can do almost all the same drivetrani mods as long as they arn't in relation to the chassis (exhaust/intake tubing etc.)

Hmm, per the Stainless Works website, you drop the rack to install thier headers. I'd like to avoid that,
The stock exhaust also crimps down in areas to barely 1 1/2 inches, doh.
I agree there's lots of room up top, the cam/head swap next weekend should go nicely.
:)

Anyone know if there is a TCS module, like the one for F-bods?
Since I live in Vegas, I don't need the traction control to be on constantly.
