Any idea when official pricing for the 05 will be available?

According to my dealer here in Houston, TX they already have the 2005 pricing available. I have been talking to him via phone for a week or 2. I intend on going in and placing the order today. He said delivery should be early November. I hope he is not just full of sh*t because I am pretty pumped!

As I suspected, the salesman I was working with was full of sh*t. The sales manager is taking deposits for pre-orders. But pricing is not available yet. Oh well, I put down my deposit anyways. He is saying November/January for expected arrival, and I am his second pre-order...I hope it is sooner. I have the need, the need for speed!

A recent article in the Chicago Tribune quoted the head of Pontiac as saying there would be about a $1,000 to $1,500 price increase on the 2005s.

This is good news, However I had a dealer tell me that GMS pricing might not be available on this car right away. Is there any precedent for this happening, or is he full of s***?

GMS pricing (supplier discount) is the dealer's choice. Some offer it but most don't on the GTO. I contacted about 10 dealers requesting it...only two agreed.

Well the dealer I went to (the self proclaimed largest pontiac dealer in the D.C. area) said they would give me the price if GMS pricing was offered on that car when it came out.

So are you saying that there will be a gMS price for this car the first day it is available?

Per the GM family first web site, they list the 2005 GTO as eligable for GMS pricing. Of course they didn't list the price. I just found out that I am not eligable for GMS (father-inlaw confused), but I contacted a local dealer (2) and both agreed to order an 05 for $1,200 & $1,500 over invoice. I plan on going in Friday to give them a deposite.

I know what you're going through, and I've been getting the same rap down here in South Florida from a few dealers who I've been trying to place an order with.

One was pressuring me into reserving a "production slot" which doesn't mean anything, and the other after calling them up and being told they had pricing information on the '05 tried to sell me an '04 for "invoice".
