Dealers can order 2005 GTOs now. Not all options have been released for ordering and there is no pricing info yet, but Pontiac has been accepting orders for a week or so.

When they take the order, do they give you any options or do you just point to a picture of a GTO and say "My name is blah blah blah and I want one of these" and walk out the door?

Hi,

My dealer wanted a $500 deposit. I got to pick the exterior and interior color, and manual transmission. (Note: he didn't know about the new 2005 colors! I edumacated him).

I also specified hood scoop delete, but some people think this won't be available at first. Same for the 18" wheels and exterior kits.

My father went to order my '05 GTO and they said that the red interior isn't available anymore...for the Phantom Black anyway. Might be... :bs: But, if this IS true I might go with the new darker blue exterior.
Does anyone know where else to see this color?(other than that awfull computer generated picture at GM online order page)

Not true, red is still available in Silver and Red exteriors.

It's really quite shocking how uneducated the dealers are compared to us lot here! According to 2005 GTO online order/reference guide, Black(ext)/Red(int) is definitely available still. If it wasn't I'd be very annoyed because that's the color combination I intend to order, whenever the dealers get the pricing information on the '05 model from GM!

My dealer seems to have their stuff together. They are the self proclaimed biggest Pontiac dealership in the US (they are a huge dealership), so I hope they are at least big enough to have enough pull to get my GTO amongst the first out there. I put down my deposit last week and this morning they faxed me my "Vehicle Order Detail" print out from their system. This detail sheet is pretty vague to be called a detail sheet but at least I know that it is actually in the system. It has my name on it and everything. I have not been able to whipe this stupid grin off my face since I got the fax.

And by the way, I ordered a Quicksilver Metallic with the Red Leather and it is printed out on this sheet. So, I assure you that you can still get silver with red interior anyways.

In case anyone is interested, here is what the Order Content and Prodution Detail section of my print out says:

Order Content
Model: 2VX37-GTO
Package:
Transmission: MN6-Transmission: 6-Speed Manual
Engine: LS2-ENGINE GAS, 8 CYL, 6.0L, SFI, ALUM, GM
Trim: 756-Red Leather
Color 1: 13U-Quicksilver Metallic
Color 2:
TPW:
Pattern: -
Order Options: FE9-Federal Emissions
R9U-GMAccess-Autobook

Production Detail
Vehicle product code: 3V
User submitted number:
FSO number:
MSRP:
GAWR - front: 00000.00
GAWR - rear: 00000.00
GVWR: 00000.00

So like I said. There is not much info on the sheet. But at least I know its the right color and has the LS2!

Just FYI - I did not order any options, so that may be why there is nothing else written on the order. I got it with the scoops, with 17" wheels, with out the appearance package. So that might be whats up with that.

Is there anyone else out there that has received a similar printout to this one?

Now starts the longest wait of your life. Check some of the older threads and you can find out when it is shipped, what boat it is coming on, when it gets here and how to find where it is once it hits U.S. soil.

All right...thanks guys. Looks like I'm going to have to send my Dad that link so he can "EDUMAKATE" the dealership. :type: You know what's really sad is that dealership is not even a 5min drive from the Ypsilanti GM Powertrain Plant in Mi.

My salesman hand delivered my info at work today. (GM PAINT SHOP) I thought that was pretty good service. Then the paperwork had to say only one thing.

the LS2 engine is built in st catharines ontario. I know because we ship the manifold/fuel rail/throttlebody assembly there. I was in a meeting with GM all day today and the intake assembly was in front of me for 8 hours. I was drooling. Cant wait until I buy my first V8 this fall!!!
