According to Automotive News (http://www.autonews.com/), GM will be trying to do the same things with Pontiac as they did with Cadillac (and Chevy).

Title: FUTURE PRODUCTS -- GM: Unfinished business: Lutz tries to invigorate car lineup. General Motors has revitalized Cadillac, and it is pouring new products into Chevrolet. GMC, meanwhile, continues to ride the truck boom. Now GM will try to revitalize its middle-market brands -- Pontiac, Buick and Saturn.

Could we see major design changes?

I'm guessing they will make Pontiac more performance orienteated (like it should be). IE the soltice and the rumored sunfire replacement built on the kapa chassis (rwd!) The GP and GTO both on the zeta platform. How abou the Bonnie on the Sigma (cts/sts/srx) chassis. Leave the minivan/vibe/G6 with FWD. Ditch the aztek (on its way out).

Buick was supposed to be aimed at Lexus, starting with the LaCross.

Saturn has a good nitch, it just needs better vehicles.

How much more does it cost to make rock solid cars? Toyota and Honda have done it for a while now. European cars are solid, but you pay through the nose, so not a real good comparison. Opps, tangen... abort.. abort.
