Plenty fast for me. These people who complain must drive to work everyday in a Lamborghini or Ferrari Enzo. We sure have a lot of ultra rich posters and lurkers out there surfing the GTO sites.

Anyway - I'll just keep driving my slow, plain-looking little GTO and keep grinning like a stupid little kid w/ an ice cream cone every time I think about it...

This group is a minority to. People in the know, know that the GTO is a quick ride.

And frankly I don't give a rats @$$ how slow they "think" it is. I'll let the LS1 do the talking for me. :D

This car is NOT slow. I almost believed in this b****. A week ago I thought that I have to wait for 2005 with LS2. But right now I drive my 2004 and I do not remember when I was that happy like now. There are not so many cars that will kill you without fight. If I want to have top speed performer I will buy a Corvette Z06 or Viper $$$

There are so many internet magazine racers who say the GTO is slow. I mean zero to 60 in less than 5.3 seconds is slow? Of course there are many cars out there that are faster. There are also guys whose girlfriends are sexier and prettier, parents whose kids are smarter, and people whose parents are richer. But over all, the GTO will kill 95% of the cars you encounter on the road.

I could strap a couple of liquid nitrogen boosters on my 10 speed bike and I could probably kill a Viper or a Z06. Yup that mountain bike sure is fast. But what's your point?

The GTO is not slow. Is it the fastest? Nope. Never was meant to be. Is it fast enough? Hell yeah!

My goat is fast enough for me. Here in suv/minivanland the goat is faster than 99% of the road vehicles in Minnesota.

Oh wow - they didn't even put the iron block in the SSR for $40k? I figured it'd at least be built like a tank as heavy as it is...

I highly doubt a GTO will have a problem with a WS6 or SS. It has more power. The better driver would probably win.

The GTO is not slow... it's just that it could easily be faster. If it came stock with slightly stickier rubber, perhaps wider rear tires, and it lost about 400 pounds... well, you know.

The SSR has the 5.3 liter motor in it, tweaked a bit to tune it to 300 horses, but still a dog. That thing can barely pull its own weight. :blink:

People must just think it's slow, becouse they expected it to be faster than the LS1 F-Body's. Those people don't realize they both have the same HP, so they run pretty close. They will have nothing to say when the '05's hit the streets.

SSR gets the LS2 next year with 390 horse, so I expect it to do its own weight pulling from now on.

Yeah, it will pull its own weight with the LS2. I was just saying that 5.3 is weak and not the right motor for that vehicle B)
