Well it is Monsoon season out in the South West and on the way home from the river last weekend the storms were really peaking. Problem is the desert is so dry that when the clouds burst the rain has no where to go except down hill and onto the road bringing with it sand and dirt.
Long story short is that the engine compartment looks like it was dunked in a dirt pit. Whats the best way to clean this? I am a little worried about steam cleaning/pressure washer as i don't want to jack up any of the electronics. Should i use good old fashioned elbow grease or is there a better way?

I spray "Grease Lightning" or "Super Clean" all over the engine, let it sit a minute, then spray it off with water. I'll usually use a leaf blower to dry it off. Comes out very nice.

Yea, any of the grease cutting cleaners work great. I'm only careful around the air intake, I spray down everything else. I figure it all gets wet in the rain anyway.

Simple green is awesome, we used to use it to clean our speed boat when I was a park ranger. It smells like rootbeer too

Simple green will work just fine on your durango, trust me man... you cant **** up your durango. If it was possible I would have already destroyed mine. If you drive up to a local quarter car wash they have an engine degraser slection seems to work just perfect. Just dont spray into the airbox and i'd stay away form the box with the relay's in it, it's right behind the battery on the durango so look for something simular on the goat and dont spray it. :)
