5.7 QUAKE CENTERED IN VALENCIA, CA - SHAKES GTO® MARKET
General Motors® Awards Pontiac® GTO® To GRAVANA In An Effort To Generate Excitement Around The Aftermarket Potential Of The 350-Horsepower GTO!

Valencia, CA - July 1, 2004 – Coming this November, we will all feel the ground shake as Gravana unveils their 2005 Project GTO at the 2004 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. GM® has awarded Gravana with a 2005 Pontiac® GTO®, which Gravana will build into a show vehicle for promotional use throughout 2004 and 2005. The primary focus of this partnership is for Gravana to showcase its line of performance parts and accessories for the GTO.

“We are excited about the opportunity to build another project vehicle for GM®. The 2004 Pontiac® GTO® is a stellar platform for the aftermarket,” said Jim Lupold, President of Gravana. “While we have already developed several performance products for the GTO, the combination of clean and aggressive looks from the factory presents a unique and challenging opportunity for Gravana to build body components which will compliment the overall design of the car.”

Gravana’s product line-up includes, but is not limited to, their 50-state legal Air Intake System, RamAir Style Hood, Adjustable Suspension Kits, Sway Bar and Cross Member Upgrades, Carbon Fiber Door Sills and Engine Covers, and a variety of additional upgrades. Companies interested in a marketing partnership on the GTO, or any other Gravana project vehicle, should contact Gravana using the contact information below.

ABOUT GRAVANA
Gravana manufactures and sells aftermarket performance products and accessories for GM® vehicles. Gravana strives to be the ultimate source for performance products and accessories for most late-model GM vehicles. While the idea started in 1998, Gravana, Inc. was founded in 2003 after several years of research and planning. Company founder Jim Lupold started his career working in the family auto repair business at age 13, building his first Pontiac® Trans-Am® before he could even drive. After college and a successful career in motorsports, he cut his professional teeth at Neuspeed, RK Sport, CarParts.com and Performance Products. While Gravana was offered six (6) GM project vehicles for 2004, the company has chosen three diverse vehicles: the 2005 Pontiac GTO, the 2005 Chevrolet® Cobalt®, and the 2005 Chevrolet Aveo®.

Wow, way to go Gravana, but isn't this a bit late for an 01 press release? Oh well either way I think they should build a GTO that will catch alot of attention.

Good catch on the July 1st date on the PR! And sorry for the 6 week delay in posting that info on the forum.

We do appreciate the support! Our goal when building a project vehicle is to build a vehicle that captures attention with products and services that any other owner can easily acquire through their local dealer and/or performance retailer. Sure, we think Jet Cars are cool and catch a great deal of attention. But I would personally rather see a street-legal, 500HP GTO, with suspension that can handle Laguna Seca or the Interstate, and body upgrades that make it unique.

Thank you!

Jim

Any word from Gravanna on availability of a stock hood configuration in carbon fiber? I am looking for weight reduction.

The car looks decent but y'all need to paint that hood before you take it to SEMA.

porthos - We are not producing an OE replacement hood. Just the one pictured below and through the link.

That's a nice looking hood. When do you think you'll have pricing and/or estimate availablility. The link provided doesn't have any additional info. :)

Thanks.

Thank you.

That hood looks very similar to the stock 2005 hood except for seperate pieces (molding) on the 2005 hood at the openings.
Very nice :D
Would definately consider depending on price and quality.

The short story:
The outer is done. The inner is still a few weeks away from being finished and bonded to the outer.

The long story:
We test-fit the first article part and it fit as good as, if not better than, the OE hood. However, I was unhappy with the routing of the air ducts, so I forced a redesign of the inner part of the hood which has pushed us back a few weeks. (Yes, I am as picky as they say; I expect 110%.)

So this is a true ram-air hood that redirects air to the air filter assembly or ?? I do like the fact it looks like the stock 05 hood. I'd like it even more if it directed air to the air filter area to help keep a nice flow of cool air to the filter while moving.

Jim, Thanks for the update...when you get it fitted post some picks of the air assembly. Additionally will the hood be designed to accept the washer nozzles?

CSiJason - This hood is considered a ram air hood, and it does direct airflow to the area above the intake. It is designed to enhance OE or aftermarket intake systems.

Phantom Goat - We could not engineer a way to incorporate the OE squirters without adversely affecting the integrity of the hood. After speaking with several customers who have the PFYC hoods, they simply mounted theirs to the plastic behind the hood.

I will shoot some pics over the next week and post them.
