I'm a new member with a new GTO. Picked it up last week after several months of research. Thanks to you all for providing so much valuable information. I love the car!

Hi, LoriRae! Welcome and congratulations on your new Goat! (Oops! Almost forgot...

YEEEEEE-HAAAWWW!!!

...there, got that out of the way. ;) )

Tell us more about your GTO (M6 or A4? Black or red leather?) And give us an idea where you reside?

(Some people are gonna want to know whether you used to drive a GTP, whether you secretly envy the scoops on a late-model Trans Am more than you secretly envy the scoops on an old GTO, whether you believe all dealers are the spawn of Satan and cr... errr... ummm... important details like that but I'd suggest ignoring them. :wall: )

Thanks! I just updated my signature to show that I reside in Indianapolis and that the GTO has red interior and an M6. I traded in a '02 Mustang GT for the new GTO. Before the Mustang GT I owned '95, '97 and '99 Camaro Z28's.

Welcome to the board, How do you like the GTO in comparison to the camaro's/ mustang... would you say its a different kind of car?

Thanks Nocturn. My 99 Z28 had the LS1 so the GTO is closest in feel to that car. The Mustang was a great car for me - much better fit and finish than any of the Camaro's - 32k miles and not a problem. It was so lacking in the power category though that it was never very satisfying to drive. The GTO interior, ride, fit and finish, sound, etc. is by far the best of any car I've had in the past. It feels good to be back in the GM family.

Good to see you out of the Ford camp and back in the GM one. Welcome home.

The "so lacking in the power" about the Mustang had me rolling. :hysterical:

And the "never very satisfying to drive." was CLASSIC. Hear that Bill Ford!!! :hysterical:

Again welcome and hope you find the site a welcome place. :)

Hey rc,

What kind of hit are you going to take on the 04'? Are you selling it out right or trading?

Congrats to LoriRae! Those wheels look SICK! :afro:

Congratulations on your new Goat. I bought mine on 8/10/04 and it is the same black/red M6 color combination as yours. I am having so much fun... :woot:

It looks like it will be a pretty big hit. Went to the auction and saw them getting 21,000 for them. These cars were selling for that not just being ran through. Before the LS2 announcement they were going for gms or over with 7,000+ miles on them. The 05 has really hurt the 04 buyers.
