I'm on a 5 year plan. That should let all the LS2 things iron out and let me get the 04 loan paid off.

LS2, isn't that reason enough to trade in? Besides, a guy like me could save a few bucks to get one that is a year old.

Is there any word on firm pricing of the '05? I heard guesses of $35,000 for an LS2 with scoops. I think that was speculation though.

The answer is no.
We should really stop talking /fighting which car is better 2004 or 2005. Every year GM should upgrade GTO and this should be rule. (That’s what makes cars better – right?).
As far as performance and look I can easily upgrade my 2004 GTO to 400hp + hood, etc. , btw I have $ 4000 in my pocket ready to be spent on some upgrades and remember that I can make my car more individual than stock 2004 or 2005 Goat. Would you fill great that every 16,000 of 2005 GTO will have the same sport package??

I bought my car a week ago knowing all changes for 2005 GTO. How about that?
I really like 2004 look and I am not planning to change that (for now).

i like the scoops but you chould swap them on an 05. When you buy a car you have to keep it for a while to get your moneys worth. either that or you should lease.

Exactly!

The 05 will probably be a better seller too, and that sucks for me. I LOVE having a car that is kind of rare.

I would rather make my 04 more personalized or even leave it with the sleeper look. This is just my opinion, but glad others feel the same way!

I too bought mine knowing about the 05, but I figure the bigger engine will equate to more traction trouble and worse gas mileage and this is my everyday driver.

Why does everyone call the new GTO a sleeper. Sure its not an extremley aggresive car or shocking styled, but it aint a sleeper. Its a nice tough looking sports coupe. To me a sleeper is like a souped up Grand Marquis or something.

Compared to the latest model TA's and Mustangs they are. In general its because the GTO doesn't have any tacky (IMO) hood scoops ....yet.. overdone spoilers and radical air dams to grab peoples attention.

If you compare it to say a WS6 maybe. But lets say your comparing it to the G35, 3 series crowd. Its no sleeper. Its a good looking car. A sleeper to me is a very basic, bland looking car. This car isnt far out but it aint bland. It also isnt basic( cloth, crank windows, no cd, no power seats, thats basic).

Yesterday I drove through a Chevrolet dealer's lot and there in the used car section was a Torrid Red six speed GTO with red interior. I couldn't see what kind of mileage was on it. The GTO was bought at the Pontiac dealer just down the street (it still had the other dealer name on it). In fact, I remember looking at that exact car. Whoever had it didn't own it for more than four months. I'm calling just out of curiousity to get a price on it. I'll post what I find out.

I just wonder what it was traded on.....

Well, I just got off the phone with the used car dealer. The GTO has 2,351 miles on it and they're asking $30,990! I had a deal on a brand new GTO for over $1,000 less. Plus I'd have gotten the 2.9% financing. Just thought I'd share that with everyone.....

Thats GM dealers for you.

Compareing the GTO to GM past sports cars and it is alot less dramatic and could be considered a sleeper in my book.
