: Has anything slipped out yet about a 05 Judge...
merc50 08-20-2004, 09:51 PM that might actually happen?
If they build an orange Judge with the changes they have made now and additions I am going to be real tempted.
I keep telling myself...drive the Mach until 07, drive the Mach until 07...
I can't wait for 07, much less for 05.
I just hope I have a SVT stang, a Shelby Stang, an SS or Z28 'maro, a Charger, and a Judge to choose from like I am thinking.
Heck, I can't wait to see a 05 GTO in real life...I want to see how the changes look overall in real world viewing.
Nocturn 08-22-2004, 06:43 PM Well the charger is already announced to hit production, and there are plans for a Camaro return in 07, As for Ford IM assuming that the SVT will be out in 06, but I don't think you will see anything from shelby untill after the GT40's run, in which case they might build the Cobra concept car that will no doubt run in the same price range as the GT40 has.
Its a shame that Ford can only build one performance car thats availble to the mass consumer.
formula79 08-22-2004, 06:54 PM Nothing concrete yet
nikivee 08-26-2004, 02:21 PM No Judge model in the foreseeable future.

I've heard of the 'Maro rumors. Do you think Pontiac will put out a new T/A on the same platform? Or is the GTO taking the place of the T/A? I'd really like to see an 07 Trans Am vs 07 Judge Shootout!
BTW, I live in Bastrop. What year GTO do ya have?
Goat Lover 10-12-2004, 09:25 PM Part of me thinks its a good idea for the Trans Am to die but part of me is like "NOOOOO!"
And eve though it would be cool for there to be but the trans am being made and a GTO judge, i think the trans am would kinda take away from the GTOs glory. :/
I say let the Trans Am go away for a little bit till there are GTOs out there eating up everythijng on the streets and after the GTO starts doing well bring back the Trans Am.

Gl touched on much of the point I was going to make. Right now the GTO has pretty much taken the place of the Trans AM, and while it may be back eventually, there are no current plans to bring it back with the Camaro (possibly 07 on the GTO platform, there is a chevy V8 RWD coupe comming with a C name. Or it could be later on say 08-09 on a stretched Kappa platform like the concept Tarrana {sp?})
So we may see the bird back, but probably not at the same time the GTO is around, and when and if it is brought back, expect it to be a more modern car, nice interrior, good suspension, not the engine and live axle car that it was before.
Sadly Tamatt I am without a GTO of any year :( Im planning for one though pretty soon.
1964GTO 10-12-2004, 10:34 PM Bob Lutz said there is the days of the firebird are over. There are NO, repeat no plans to bring it back. If the GTO is succesful and remains in the Pontiac lineup the firebird wont come back. The camaro is planned to come back on the 07 GTO platform, being a smaller, less powerful version.

And cheaper mind you..
The bird may be back down the line, just I imagine not for a while since the GTO is probably here to stay for a bit.
Morpheus 10-14-2004, 10:05 AM I was told by someone in GM that the decision was made to NOT bring out a Judge version of the car. The only way I see it happening is if they move production over here.
carnivore80 10-15-2004, 08:55 AM A friend was telling me last night that he saw a schedule that listed GM programs for the next few years. He said that the Camaro will be back in late '07 and there was no mention of a 'bird or a T/A on there anywhere. Oh and they are moving GTO production over here, also in 2007. It is supposed to be on the Zeta Platform with the CTS-V.
TheJizzer 10-15-2004, 09:12 PM Ok Ok.. The Zeta is still up in the air.... Chevy (GM) is in the works to try to take the market back like the 60s-early 70s but not retro styling but more RWD and more V8 options - The Camaro, the Chevelle both RWD and both V8 options, BUT talk of the Monte going RWD is still in the works ... meaning the Camaro, Chevelle and the Monte will all be back all be RWD and all have V8 options.
Now what does that mean for pontiac you ask?
The TA in Lutz's eyes is gone BUT.... expect to see the GTO, the LeMans, and Grand Prix all in RWD with V8 options
2 things... If gas prices continue to climb.. things will change...but they will not so let's move on...
Above (other than the gas) I know are facts - do not ask how I know because the answer is "a littel bird told me"
But now my OPINION.... I think Lutz will grab too much pressure from the Pontiac crowd when they release the Camaro to put out a TA but he may bring on a suprise..like a badass Tempest...
Lutz deserves more credit than he is getting. But remember all is balanced on the Government and the Barrel prices... so a steady increase will make for hard pressed RWD V8 action.
Also expect too see more "new" vehicles hit the GM floor in RWD-AWD v8 power over the next few years

Im not saying the firebird name is gone FOREVER( just like i wont say the grand am, catalina, lemans etc will be gone forever). What Lutz meant is there are no plans to reintroudce the bird, and as long as the GTO is succesful it wont come back. There definitley wont be a new bird this decade. And yes the camaro will be a cheaper, smaller, less powerful car built on the same new platform as the GTO. Rumor has it that the new Bonneville will be a larger version, also built on this platform.
