A guy in a brand new Volkswagen R32 (still had dealer tags on) started egging me on a little yesterday. From the front it looked like a GTI, so i ways like "i don't think so dude". Well when he was sitting next to me at the light he gave me the look and i was in for. At this time i still think it is a GTI. We hit it and i was at about 3/4 power when the little ******* started to pull on me thats when i noticed the R32 on the right of the hatchback and dual side exhaust. I quickly got on her and reeled the R32 back in( to be honest it took a little work) and made the in your face, don't mess with the GOAT ever again, pass.
Wow that little thing was fast, but the GOAT still came out on top :D

Lebanon valley dragway, R32 less then 800 miles stock ran a best of 13.8.
Very impressive car. AWD tough to beat out of a hole, lookslike a regular gti.

The R32 is an impressive car, no doubt.
I had all but signed the papers on an R32 when my wife talked me into test-
driving a GTO. I'm a long-time Yank Tank H8er, but the Saturn V thrust of the LS-1 made me fecking buy it...
No regrets here. B)

This is quite a change for me-- I'm moving from a '99 BMW 323i...

I'd say that the GTO could be a GM conquest car. I'm a long time kraut car owner - 2 Porsches, 4 BMWs, three VWs, 1 Volvo, 1 SAAB. The GTO is making me think American for the first time since my '74 Cosworth Vega.

Groucho I really like those stripes on your car. I noticed in your guestbook that you bought it with some things already done to it.... did you put the stripes on or did they come with it? I'm not a big fan of how it looks in yellow, but your's is sexy!!!
