2005 GTO MSRP Poll

Make your choice for the BASE model 2005 GTO (No options). Please consider this will be the automatic with the 1000 dollar gas guzzler tax and delivery of 700 bucks already included.

For example this years A4 was MSRP at $33,495.
While the M6 was MSRP at $33,190.

Make your guesses as Pontiac and GM seem to be in no hurry to release prices. :)

Cheaper than a Hyundai Sonata. I have heard from reliable sources that if you buy an Aztek, you will get a 2005 GTO for free.

Pontiac dealers have learned the error of their ways and the mistake they made with the 2004 GTO. They etched a promise in their own blood never to add mark ups again. They have made a joint formal resolution to make it up to the buying public and practically give away these 400 hp LS2 cars to anyone and everyone who wants to come in for an unlimited test drive when these cars start piling up at dealer lots come October-November of this year.

given the issues with current model, i expect it to fall in the 33000-33500 range... i cant see how they can push the prive higher, given the 06 vette's with the LS2 arent more expensive. Also, other than scoops you really dont get much change style wise, inside or out.

Obviously the dealer mark ups etc etc are another story... but maybe (start dream sequence) the dealers who were over charging learnt their lesson and won't do it on the 05 model (end dream sequence).

Also Pontiac may price it more favourably to make sure they do actually sell more.

I think there will be a small increase in price but nothing too significant. The New GTO is a performance bargain as it is when compared to other vehicles of its caliber. Best case scenario will be a carry over of the 04 MSRP, there is no way the price will go down.

Wow, desertgoat's comments were very helpful don't you think? I hope one day to be as informed and as clever as him. Don't forget, because he ACTUALLY OWNS A 2004 GTO he some how knows so much more about the 05's than the rest of us possibly can. Makes a lot of sense doesn't it? I guess he is clairvoyant and/or psychic, I didn't realize those God-like powers came standard with every 04 GTO. :bs:

The LS2 C6 Corvette is supposed to be a $50,000+ car isn't it?

Dream on.

So why don't you give your reliable honest dealer a call and make him promise you your precious goat will be in ready for pick up, say something like next month?
Maybe he can give you an actual definite price too. Then you can come back in here, tell us what the MSRP is and then next month show me pictures of your new goat and rub my face in it.

In the meantime go in your garage and make imaginary Vroom Vroom sounds.

i dont see the 05 prices coming in anywhere near 04 msrp, sorry. you know the dealers will stick on daft "adjustments" especially with the new engine.

Just keep talking, you're making my case for me. No need to reply to this, just keep making those extremely ignorant comments and eventually no one here will listen to a thing you say.

By the way, you have no idea what's in my garage.

I'm done responding to and commenting on your uneducated and uninformed comments that lack any substantial backing. I am going to lead the charge in ignoring your very existance, I'm sure others will follow.

Oh yeah there's no doubt they will, but there's no reason anyone has to pay an MVA price. It's just a case of being firm, telling them the price you are prepared to pay that's both good for you and still allows the dealer a margin of profit that's acceptable.

Pointing out that those MVAs no doubt contributed to the excess of unsold '04s thus far, doesn't hurt either.

speaking of "daft adjustments", last year i looked at getting a mitsubishi evolution. local dealer had over a dozen sitting there (and it was not a large dealership). i believe invoice was around 28 grand or so, by the time he added on the "extras", the asking price was $41,000. Oh, and they werent interested in selling at any where near msrp let alone invoice. bye bye mitsubishi....
