Well, first of all a "chip" wont really make much difference on a bone stock car to begin with. Secondly, the car uses an EEPROM memory which is re-flashable electronicly. Which means you dont "chip" anything, the ECU is simply reprogrammed.

I would stay away from "one size fits all" programs anyhow. I highly suggest having a good engine tuner who is well versed in some of the tuning software available to do the work for you, after you start to mod of course.

My experience and research on chips for GM cars is that they don't do much to fairly stock cars...with one exeption. If you have a car that runs on 87 octane, the chip may give you a few horsepower and torque if you have one and you use it with 92+ octane.

Basicly, stick to "real" mods until you need to get the ECU custom tuned. For example, you can bolt on an aftermarket intake, headers and exhaust and then get the ECU tuned and see a noticeable gain in power.
