Out of curiosity, was your buddies Hemi Ram a regular or crew cab? Is his an automatic or manual? Was he hauling any excess weight?

The reason I ask is although I can believe your story I dont see how a 345 HP Ram weighing in at 4800 pounds (pretty hefty) and quoting Truck Trend here 0-60 in 6.8 seconds is going to get walked by an Aztec AWD (a little over 4000 lbs) with 185 HP (maybe 190 or so with your mod) with a 0-60 in 9.2 seconds (this is for the LIGHTER FWD version too)

I'm not doubting your story of you beating him. I'm just trying to figure out why he lost as he should have won fairly easily. Maybe he can't drive, too much wheelspin, hauling too much weight or something. He does have the Hemi correct? Not the smaller V8?

I'm always glad to here Hemi kills. (I think they are overrated myself). I'm just trying to see what happened with your buddy, sounds like he needs some driving lessons. ;)

You mean you dont want to spend money on an engine that doesn't accomplish anything that hasn't been done in a similiar pushrod V8?!?!?!?!?!?

*points and laughs at hemi sheep*

HAHA those Aztec's definitely are mean machines. Did I read that correctly that you did a Neutral drop off the light? If you did, that's awesome ROFL. And Simple Tek, ROTFL means Rolling On The Floor Laughing. Go get' em Tiger!!

he has been driving since he was 13 years old but i drive since i was 9years old!!

my aztek has 200hp now and i will be adding some more stuff, but you know how are hemis they are overrated and a rear wheel drive truk heavy as hell and trying to get of at a high rpm not a good thing too much wheels spin so when he does the smoke show ill smoke him with his own smoke!!! :woot:

In an automatic like your Aztec you would be better served to leave it in D (Drive) and brake torque the engine to 3000 rpm and launch rather than a 3000 rpm neutral drop. The only thing that will accomplish is "lunching" your transmission after a few times. Leave it in Drive, apply the brake and rev the engine to 3000 rpm. This will "pre-load" the transmission and let you leave more quickly than what you describe above.

he has been driving since he was 13 years old but i drive since i was 9years old!!

That's not saying much. If you were doing it here in the states all it says that you were breaking the law and being irresponsible. Now if you are talking about driving in another country where the laws are different then that's a different story.

Keep it safe out there.

Or maybe he's a farm kid. I know around here in Kansas farm kids wind up driving tractors, combines, and wheat trucks. Note that this is in fields not on roads and isn't the least bit illegal because it's private property. There are also kids younger than nine racing all kinds of vechicles very legally. Including lawn mower powered dragsters and fairly powerful dirt bikes.

:woot: in Brasil were i come from we can drive at least a buggy lower than 100 hp so that was not illegal back then but now it is!!!

I thought of that shortly after I posted, but thanks for bringing it up. :)

That answers my question. You very well may be the only native Brazilian on the board. :)

Understandable. Still it will be terror on your transmission/transaxle. Tire spin is overated though. A good hard launch and all the competition will see is your taillights. :D

Glad you feel at home. :)

Keep on posting. Especially if you keep beating up on your buddy with the Hemi Ram.

Maybe instead of saying, "That thing got a Hemi?", you could try..........

"That thing got a Hampster?"

;)
