You guys missed a GREAT drag race at SLP...we were fender to fender all the way down the track. Besides a so-so launch, I think I made my mistake by shifting right under redline instead of just above it b/c each time I'd grab a gear I'd just see more and more red sheetmetal in my front window. Next time...I will prevail!!!


The consolation prize was I got to blast this Impala SS off on the way back home. They were apparently trying to egg this Marauder on, but he wanted no parts of 'em. So I just kept up with them before traffic started to get on my nerves. (Is it me or is all the slower traffic now driving in the left lane??? ) Anyhow, we had to split around this tractor trailer in the middle lane. I dropped it into 5th once I was hidden behind the truck so by the time he had cleared the truck on his lane I was jetting out. Everytime he'd ease up on my bumper, I'd just squeeze the throttle and...buh-buh baby!!!! I so owned that SS all the way up to exit 14 like the bad a-- pimp I dream I am!! They were cool though...finally pulling up next to me and exchanging a thumbs up.

As I got to my exit I came upon this Camaro SS that was showing off with his girlfriend. I think he had a SLP Loudmouth on it b/c that thing was snap cracklin and poppin' like crazy...should I really eat up two Chevy's in a day??? naw...I had enough fun, so I took my exit and let him feel like he punked me.
What a great ending to a long tedious day!

y didnt u race the SS camaro, you should have killed it. God knows they say enough s*** about the goat, he could have used a little humbling( the 70 goat was called the humbler)

Well i finally had my own SS encounter. I noticed a grey SS Camaro, with ricer tail lights, and a non stock exhaust( looked like one of the SLP ones with quad tips). He noticed the GTO right away and was in the next lane showing his motors sound off( nowere near as nice as the GTOs). Well we finally got the chance to lineup next to each other, and we let our LS1s go. The GTO pulled ahead and held the lead. It was close but the goat never gave in. It seems to be like i always said, GTO vs fbody is an even match, driver skill will decide the matchup.

The LM only pops when the motor is cold. Otherwise it sounds awsome. And I'm assuming your GTO isn't stock if you are confident that you'd beat an SS.

I beat an SS bone stock. I was confident that it would be a good match. I didnt think i would kill him and i didnt.

I'll congratulate you on finally buying a car with the LS1! I'd say if you raced the LS1 FBody 10 times, the results may be 50/50. Now quit with this sibling rivalry and go beat some new Stangs! That's what matters.

Oh i agree, i think the GTO/fbody is a wash and the 50/50 thing is correct. I was just angry about some fbody guys saying the GTO is slower.
I agree we need to stick together and beat on fords.
