: Killed a 67 Mustang
ram09 10-25-2004, 09:57 PM Early Sunday morning about 1:45 a.m. I was following a friend of mine in his 67 Mustang that he thinks is pretty fast. We were headed to another friends house out in the country and he got about a mile lead on me before I could get away from a light in town. Well needless to say I wasnt about to let him beat me there. :jumpon: So I put the gas down and got my Goat running. Well he was doing about 95 and I caught up to him pretty quick. He wouldnt let me pass him though until we got to about a mile long straight away and I laid the gas to the floor in 6th gear. I was going about 132 as I passed him. He couldnt hang and I beat him there by about a mile. The highway we were on is about seven and a half miles long and we made it in about two and a half minutes. Needless to say that I dont think I will do that again for awhile because taken corners at 120 scared the **** outta me, but it is nice to know what I can do if I need to.
04GOATGERM 10-25-2004, 10:38 PM Nice kill...the Goat does perfer horse meat with maybe a little side dish of rice. B)
Careful on those curvy roads though. ;)
ram09 10-25-2004, 10:46 PM It wasnt just a curvy road it was a road with bumps right before, during, and after the curves. I mean the road is paved pretty good but it is pretty bumpy. Thats another reason I wont do that again, at least for awhile.
silver04GTO 10-26-2004, 12:08 AM lol horse meat , side dish of rice lol good one 04
digitalgod 10-26-2004, 12:33 AM I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade. but 7 1/2 miles in 2 1/2 minutes would be an average of 180 mph which there is no way you did that because you would have had to hit speeds over 200 mph to do it and you yourself said it had curves which would be fatal at those speeds unless you have some way to break the laws of physics. I guess it just shows that time really flies when you're having fun. :D
ram09 10-26-2004, 09:47 PM Your right time does fly when your having fun, I must have looked at the clock wrong. Considering that I had the whole adrenalaine rush and must have gotten confused. I now know that a Hi-Po 289 cant hang with a Goat at any speed.

Lol I imagine some of the numbers were a bit exagerated, but none the less, one for the GTO
ram09 10-26-2004, 10:38 PM The only thing I was wrong about was the time it took to get down that road. Like I said when the adrenaline is rushing time flies. I know I was doing over 130 because the guy riding with me was watching the speedometer the whole time while holding on to the roof and the dash.
Mike D 10-27-2004, 12:08 AM nice kill. this car is a blast to drive at high speed B)
Foster'sguy 10-27-2004, 12:35 AM Mike D - cool avatar....... ram09, was playing leapfrog with a WRX STI on the way home from work last night when my internal radar went off. Backed off from 110 without hitting the brakes, got down to about 75 when a state trooper came cruising past on my left. I take back every bad thing I've ever said about FHP!! That trooper had us dead to rights and just let us slide! He HAD to know we were speeding. All I could do was look over towards my opponent and laugh......had we continued I know I would have had to uphold the reputation of my ride - and gone to jail in the process.
1964GTO 10-27-2004, 01:04 AM i have embarashed many a 289 in my 64. They are no match for any GTO, new or old
ram09 10-27-2004, 08:55 PM I know the new Goats are fast, but I have to admit some of those rice rockets and front drive cars are pretty fast to. There is a guy where I work that has a Dodge Neon SRT-4 and I havent raced him yet, but just riding with him it can up and run almost as good as my Goat. With a few mods that thing will really fly. Those new WRX STI's are really dangerous to, with all wheel drive, putting power down aint a real problem. I am going to be cautious if I come up on one and it doesnt appear to be stock. Even if it is I still will be cautious.
Foster'sguy 10-27-2004, 10:38 PM Just try to remember the WRX STI is basically a street legal race car.
Nocturn 10-27-2004, 11:02 PM Very true, but run what you brung.
ram09 10-27-2004, 11:30 PM Since our little sprint down that highway my buddy has decided its time to upgrade that little engine he has. He is now making plans and finding parts to build a 347 stroker motor, he thinks that will be enough to take me :bs: . But unknown to him by the time he has that built though I will already have a flowmaster exhaust system  and a Radix Magna Charger on my Goat  . So I told him to bring it on.

Flowmaster has a system designed for the '04 GTO? I've just about given up looking for it.
I go to their website (not the greatest for specific info) and can't find anything for the new Goat.
Do you have any more info or a link?
ram09 10-28-2004, 10:16 PM I found the system on the Flowmaster website. When I went to the site I just did a search in there site search and the exhaust system came up. From what I know it is a 2.5 inch system using 40 series mufflers, and comes out the back. Just like stock.
