Apparently this isn't set in stone...

$34,640 would be a figure very much inline with what we've been hearing, although admittedly they're not specific as to whether that price is for the A4 or the M6 w/o the Gas Guzzler tax.

I assume the DFC figure is the amount charged for delivery?

"2VX37 Pontiac GTO 33,940 700 34,640"

So it looks like the base MSRP has risen to 33,940. destination charge of 700, I imagine thats a M6 MSRP though.

Thanks for the info!

It's about time GM!!!!

Sounds right on line with what was rumored.

I don't think they could have came in at the same price as the 04 or lower. Would have been a total slap in the face to us 04 owners.

For a mere 1000 dollars more you get 50 more HP, dual exits on the exhaust, a scooped hood and larger brakes. Sounds like a pretty d@mn good deal to me. I hope I don't hear much b!tching. ;)

Will not hear much bitching from me...my car was well over $7000 less than a 05 even with my 1000 gas-guzzler tax.

But do not get me wrong I LOVE THE 05 ALSO! just not practicle for me to spend the extra $$ right now. :D

edited -- erm, make that $8K

But Let me recapitulate, I think both the 04 and 05 are worth every penny of the MSRP! :dribble:

Anyone know what this means at the bottom?

Exlcudes Lacrosse, Terraza, SRX, XLR, Cobalt, Uplander, G6, Montana SV6, GTO, Relay, Vue, Ion

I'm assuming the 1st word is just a misspelling of "excludes" but that doesn't alter the fact that all of those vehicles *are* on the list.

I would say 33940 plus 695 for M6 plus 700 Destination so then 35335 for M6 and then 33940 plus 1000 Guzzler tax plus 700 destination so 35640 for A4. Base price is always no options.

Not that I'd go for an A4 over a M6 but maybe there's a chance that the '05 A4 won't apply to the gas guzzler tax, being that the LS2 is 6-8 % more efficient then the LS1. Does any one else think so?

2005 A4 has the Guzzler Tax. It has been verified and shows up on the GM Online Ordering Guide. GG Tax is $1000 for 2005 and will be included with every A4.

It has it. :)

Hum the 6L is 6-8% more efficiant- maybe but the results I have seen show a reduction in MPG. So yes more efficient but still more HP so this Less MPG.

In essance a 6-8% increase in efficiency but a 14% increase in HP. That gas has to come from somewhere ;)
