I had a 2000 Camaro SS with the GMMG Chambered Exhaust on it like the Dale Earnhardt 'Intimidator SS' has and although that one truely sounded awesome............this one blows that one away!!!!

Be warned, I'v herd that on fbodies with Loudmouth that adding headers makes it sound horrible.

How hard is it to install headers anyway??

Its a simple weekend installation.......provided you have a lift and a engine hoist.. :lol:

If youve done one before it cant be pretty simple, if not it can take the better of 2-3 days. Depending on the length of the headers it can vary in difficulty. You could always have a shop do it though.

It may not sound bad at all, but I have herd that when paired on the fbody headsers and loudmouth sounded pretty nasty.

So it might or might not sound bad.

What is your opinion on the sound of the Loudmouth alone??

I wouldn't be installing the headers. I'd get a friend to do it. That's who installed the exhaust. I paid him 50 bucks to do it.

I'm just wondering about how much I'd have to pay him to install headers.

What did you think about the stock exhast? Do you think this sounds better or worse then the stocker? I am hesitant to change anything because I love the sound of the stock system. What are your thoughts?

I thought the stock exhaust sounded pretty darn good.

I've owned a 2000 Camaro SS, a 2003 Silverado SS, a 1997 Mustang GT and a 2000 Mustang GT and all of 'em were brand new when I got 'em and the GTO's exhaust was ten times better than any of those.

With that said.........I wanted it to be better.


I think this sounds A LOT better than the stock. I really like it a lot.

I've had Flowmaster on some of my rides and on my Camaro I had the Dale Earndhart 'Intimidator SS' exhaust from GMMG Inc. and I've also had Borla and this one sounds better than any of those in my opinion.

While I imagine some will be out that do, Most havnt as it requires a new rear bumper. But Its probably not to long before there is one included in a dual exit ehaust kit.

Personally I prefer the Borla sound to LM, but then theres the price...

I will be getting the side exit exhaust package that Howie has from Arrowhead Performance. I'm just waiting for their rear bumper to be available. Just look at Howies GTO in the garage. :dribble:

There is at least one system on the market, but I don't want to post a link as I don't believe they are a sponsor here.

The LM doesn't sound bad with headers, just a bit loud for some people.

Well now that I've gotten used to the new Loudmouth exhaust it really doesn't seem that loud to me at all. :lol:

So now I think I'm definitely gonna get headers.

Loud doesn't bother me...........but sounding like **** does. <_<

I'd really like to hear a GTO with both the Loudmouth exhaust AND headers on it before I make the decision.

I've been thinking about the Loudmouth myself. Have the LM on my T/A and I love it. After reading this post, Im thinking Im going to purchase it now. I must say though, the stock exhaust does sound quite nice. :D

Theres the Banshee exhaust(PFYC)

and theres JBA split duel but i dont know if/when its going to be out.

BTW, im not meaning to advertise so if that ^ is advertising ill take it off

The picture has been posted here before so I removed it, if it was something dramatically different I might have left it but its just a dual exhaust with the right side cut. The JBA car has a little lip surronding the cut which looks pretty good.

I really wish I could have heard your GTO. I miss the loudmouth I had on my Firehawk. I wanted to hear it on a GTO before I bought one.

If your Firehawk was an LS1 it will probably sound almost the same. If your Hawk was a LT1, it won't be quite as loud.
