Ok -- I am not sure about the "regulations" and "inspections" of states in the country but...

I see a lot of people changing a 3/36k stainless steel factory exhaust....that said

For those that are looking for performance I have a suggestion

By-pass. If you state does not use mirros to inspect your car this would be my suggestion..you can get a electric exhaust by-pass for wayyyyyyy less that any aftermarket exhaust. They can be put just about anywhere on the vehicle.. pre-resonator...pre-cat....pre-muffler

Me personally I would go after the resonators and pre-cat..all you do is flick a switch and WHAMO!!! by-pass action :friday:

Imagine lined up at a light next to a (in sert car here) flick that switch and all you would here is BLAP BLAP BLAP BLAP BLAP BLAP!!!! MUUUAHAHAHA! :frankie:

You'd trip a check engine light when the cutouts were open, since the rear o2s that monitor catalyst operation would not read correctly. O2 simulators for the rear cats would be a minimum for the cutouts to work, or tuning. The a/f ratio with the cutouts open will not be optimal, since the cutouts are not open long enough for the computer to fully compensate for the increased flow.

Yes I am aware of all the things need to make it work.

And I will bet you it makes big difference in the power. You just need it set up correctly. I am not just taling about cutting holes in the exhaust.

If you don't tune for it, you won't be seeing that big of a difference, I just wanted to make that clear for anyone who reads the thread. I'm also not sold on the reliability of the electric cutouts.....
