This is my first time doing this, so please be gentle. I just recieved and installed K&N's CAI into my 04 GTO. I have noticed that since then, it is not as quick off the line as it was before installing it. I was wondering if anyone else has experianced the same or has a suggestion. At this point, that is the only thing that isnt stock.

Have you double checked the connections and hoses?

I just checked all connections and everything is tight.

How many miles have you driven it since installing it? The computers very often have to recognize and then adjust to the different intake. I have found that on a number of different cars on which I put an aftermarket intake. In fact, on the 2003 GLI I had it took a good 50 miles. Then, the difference was quite noticable.

This is strange, but you might just have what this service warning is talking about:

The installation of an aftermarket reusable, oiled air filter may result in:

1. Service Engine Soon (SES) Light On

2. Transmission shift concerns, slipping and damaged clutch(es) or band(s)

3. Engine driveability concerns, poor acceleration from a stop, limited engine RPM range (http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1816&highlight=warranty)

I don't believe it, but you never know!

That applies more to the A4 since I understand it uses the MAF readings to make shift decisions.

And it's for drop in filter not the CAI. For some reason people like to spray the filter until the oil is dripping off. Not good, that's what causes the SES to come on.
