Sooner or later Im going to get a kit from AP. Since you cant order painted pieces how much would if cost, on average, just a guess, anything, to get sideskirts, a rear bumper cover, and front bumper cover painted yellowjacket? I didnt just PM Howie because I have been PMign him too much :D Thanks in advance

Paint is expensive here in San Dieo. That said, I had my front and rear fascias re-done. Set me back $900. My RK hood (Are you sitting down?) set me back $700, $200 more than the hood.

Every place is different with thier prices. Remeber though don't just go to the cheapest place, you need quality too. Nothing worse than having to paint a piece twice! :pain:

My advice to you is make sure the shop can paint "plastic". How far are you from Baltimore? There are a couple of places in the MD area, but with that said I bet there are some in your area also...do some research...

If they use standard paint on the aftermarket parts the paint WILL crack!

And remember the more parts painted at once the cheaper it will be...it cost the shop to set up...so there is a minimum gallon setup fee. In other words you will get a better price for painting all the parts at once.

My guess is about $500 in our area

What kind of things do I search for? Like If I looked on google. My zip is 22554 btw if you need that to help your search. Im close enough to baltimore but not close enough to take a bunch of trips there. I will probably order that kit in a whole so it less expensive and probably easier for howie and his people. So they need to match the yellowjacket and use paint that will work on gel coated pieces.

Oh, Howie, when you said you can order them in Gel coated Black or Gel coated white...what would I need and what would be the difference?

In my experince... $1000 for the kit and $400 for the hood done at once. This is for a good job.

IIRC, the Arrowhead kits are made of a flexable resin fiberglass, not urethane. Urethane parts you should set in the sun for a few days and then wipe down with alcohol to clean off any oils that make their way out. The sun will draw out the gunk and alcohol will clean the surface prior to priming.

The paint for plastics is generaly the same but will have a flex agent added to keep it from cracking on a flexable surface like urethane or flexable fiberglass.
