I am going to install JBA shorty headers on my 04 goat, can some one tell me if it will affect my factory warrenty? Also will headers affect the emissions systems, I plan to leave the stock exhaust in place for now. I installed the K&N cold air induction system, will a modifyed MAS be worth installing?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Depends on your dealership. By law, they are not supposed to void your warrenty with mods (just the warrenty on parts you replaced obviously and anything that can prove was damaged but your mods), but some dealerships just don't give a **** about that law cuz they don't believe you'll take their asses to court. So, your kinda gonna have go clear it with the dealership first.

Some dealers are mad cool, others are just jerks.

Talked to my dealer, they said the samething you said, if the mod effects a factory part they can't warrenty the effected parts. Other than that the warrenty stays in affect. I did not worry about warrentys with my 66 goat, but the 04 is a little different, more money.

Thanks for the help.

You might not see much of a gain with the shortys...look for the long tubes (unless you need smog legal headers). Call Tom at TBYRNE and ask his opinion, he'll hook you up. If part of your drivetrain (tranny/rear end/axle) has issues, the dealership could say it was because of the increased HP. Ask your maintenance shop what they think if you are worried about the warranty.

Thanks for the info about power gain with shorty headers, looks like I will check into full length.

If you mod can be remotley associated with the cause of the warrenty mistake it can void it. Like if you get a blown piston and have headers they could try and correlate the two. But if say, your radio stopped working...they could not void the warrenty because you have headers.

However if you do have it in for nonrealated warrenty work, and they notice the headers, they can put in in the computer in case you ever come in with an engine issue.
