Does the installation of a Cat back system wffect a GM Warranty.
I am thinking about getting the SLP loudmouth.
A local Muffler shop has suggested some sort of turbo's. But I have no Idea what the turbo's would sound like on the 04 Goat.

They are most likely sugesting turbo mufflers, not turbochargers.

But you would need to talk to your dealer, most I have had experianced with will allow bolt ons but not hardcore engine mods.

Yes I gathered they were talking about turbo mufflers. But I still do not know what they would sound like compared to the SLP loudmouth.

I also spoke with one of the sponsors, and he confirmed your thoughts regarding bolt ons should not effect thethe warranty.
But one never know's

I would say 99% of the time you would not have an issue with warranty...then there is that other 1%. I could foresee a situation where the car has a check engine light on and goes into the dealer and it has an oxygen sensor code (the last thing right before your cat back). I could see certain dealers saying, "you need to return the car to stock before we can diagnose it further". The only reason I could see any sort of denial on is something the dealer could attribute to lower backpressure. As a side note, that is one of the first questions a dealer is always asked when they call GM technical assistance is if the vehicle has been modified in any way, or has any aftermarket accessories. GM has seen situations where even a plug in CB has caused electrical interference with the vehicle electronics.

By the way, GM has put out a bulletin to all it's dealers telling them they can void the warranty on MAF sensors if a K&N filter is installed and has too much oil on it. They have seen over oilled K&N's getting oil on the hot MAF sensor wires and making them go bad. So the simplest mods can have an affect on warranty.
