How many miles on your Goat?
I and others have had guage gremlins. Try a search and you'll come up with some posts. Mine went away about as quickly as they came and have not returned. I'm at 5400 miles and haven't seen them since around 700 on the odometer.

One time my fuel gauge said 1/2 tank about 30 miles after fill up. then at a stop sign I accelerated and got up to 190 MPH on the analog. (Wanted to take a picture)
I switched between all the digital gauges and they were fine, 60 MPH, 310 miles range. When I shut the car down and restarted everything was back to normal.
Haven't seen it since.

Hmmmm.......
Sounds like a trip to the dealer may be in order for some warranty work if it hasn't gone away. If I were you I'd be making the call to get it replaced/repaired under warranty.

:bs: :bs: :bs:
Sounds like they are trying to blow some smoke up your @$$.
How can they know what the problem even is if they don't bring it in and attempt to diagnose it?
Sounds like they don't want to be bothered. You might give your Pontiac Regional Representative a call and have them contact this "dealer". They can either cut through the BS or send you to another "qualified" dealer who will perform the diagnostic and work.
It's cr@p like this that sours people on GM products. Stupid @$$ dealers who want to sell you a vehicle but then don't want to make warranty repairs.
At minimum they can order a new guage cluster and see if it solves the problem by replacing the old one. Or at least they could look into the fuel sending unit to see if there is a problem there. Give your Pontiac rep a call.
