: Has anyone installed Brisk LGS series Spark Plugs?

I recently purchased a set of Brisk LGS series high performance plugs for installation in my GTO and I'm curious if anyone has tried them in their LS1 GTO? If yes, what did you think of them?

What is gained by changing Plugs? Is it worth it?

These plugs are designed to promote the rapid expansion of the flame front during ignition (or so the claim goes). After doing some research on the design of the plugs, it seemed plausible to me that the design would improve spark ignition and boost HP a little. I'm looking for a local dyno shop so I can get a baseline before I install the plugs to see if there is indeed a HP gain. If it is 10-20 HP gain, then I will be happy since it is a relatively cheap bolt on power adder.

You will NOT see 10-20HP out of plugs. Plugs help ignite the fuel yes, but all your going to see is improved idle and smoothness.

I'm not so sure about that. Plug design changes over the years have improved HP output by helping to reduce the amount of unburned fuel during the combustion cycle. Either way, that's the reason why I wanted to dyno the car before\after so I could assess the manufacturer's claim.

Spark plug design has changed yes, but that doesn't mean that there is more power to gain. The plugs on the GTO are made for performance and to burn the fuel completely. Rest assured that you will see almost no power gain from the plugs, but you will see better idle and smoothness throughout the RPM band.

You mean GM's claim?

No, plug manufacturer.

Everyone knows you get the most power from a body kit like the GTO has in Need for Speed- Underground.

So what's the conclussion? Don't bother changing them or change them for minimal improvements?

I would not bother with them unless you do any mods that effect the CR of the engine. Spark plugs help most in forced air applications IMO.

The spark plugs in the GTO, as well as all GM cars, are made not for performance but longevity. Big difference. They are 100K mile plugs.

My son's friends seem convinced that it is the lightning-bolt graphics and the spinners that really make 'em kick @ss!
