Climate Control

Does anyone have any idea what setting on the climate control diverts air flow to the side window vent ducts? Have tried every thing and can't feel any air movement through those two side vents.

Thanks!

Set it to split - defrost/upper, set the temp wherever you'd like, turn the fan to 'HI', push the A/C button and then have patience.

Those side vents are pretty different than what you get in American cars. Really pretty interesting. Do they work better than vents in the normal place?

No. They are marginal, I think. I can't imagine having to deal with some really nasty winter weather and hope to be able to look out the side mirrors - of course, I don't have to deal with really nasty winter weather (one of the main reasons I moved from the mountains to the beach!) and, even when I did, I never expected to be able to use the side mirrors anyhow! ;)

Interesting. I wonder if it's because of the extra routing on the side vents? Maybe it reduces the speed of the air?

My side vents aren't the best, either ('05), but I don't get it. Why do you need rear view mirrors, your accelerator not working? :D

If you read the owners manual it explains it quite well.

So, are you saying that the airflow is poor? Even with the fan turned to its maximum setting? :o

If so, then summer is going to be really hot. :o

I'm only talking about those tiny little slotted vents next to the windows - the ones that are intended to defog them so you can see the sideview mirrors (I'm assuming...) The normal A/C vents work fine.

I am having the same problem. I can't get the door windows to defrost in the morning be for heating up the entire car.

Me too...when i had the Goat in Michigan (Jan) they didn't work for $--t! <_< They kind of have a mind of their own...sometimes the right side would kinda work and absolutly nothing on the left and vice-versa.

Bad design.

These vents are fed from the screen demister ducts a way to increase the pressure to the side ducts is to close off some of the screen vents with a news paper. hope this helps. :type:

Keep in mind they don't really have the weather down under that we have here in the US, the side vents were adequate for their climate. It's just one of the small tradeoffs you learn to live with since we got the LS1/LS2 engines to motivate the car :)
