First off as you can see I am a NEWBIE <_< but I absolutely enjoy this site alot and have looked around quite a bit lately. I just recently took an 05 for a ride this past Monday since it was a beautiful day in CT. And all I can say is that I have FALLEN in LOVE with it!! But what sucks is that I dont have the money to buy it just right this moment :jumpon: But one day I WILL buy this awsome machine. I used to have this Saleen Mustang Spyder which is a 93 (She is long gone since I got into an accident with it and it was someone's fault :jumpon: ) I know so much about these Stangs but after driving this GTO, what a heartfelt change I had for them!!!

But I do have questions about this LS2 for the 05 GTO's .....

Are those ATI Prochargers great for this car? I had these in my stang and loved every bit about them. I have tried looking for these package for these LS2 engines but to no availabilty and I have looked at their sites as well but it only applies for the LS1's. I'm looking into pushing a good 600 HP or so at the wheels since my stang had a good 650 HP at the wheels with extensive modifications to it. Would I have to do any internal modifications to it since I want to push those numbers? I'm aware for the drivetrain parts and I'm going to go with BMR Products with the chassis stiffing kits as well. What about their clutch as well since I want a M6? I have looked at the Arrowhead Performance products as well and I do love the front and rear spoilers that they provide. Oh yeah what about those Kooks Headers or anything better since I want to optimize great reliable performance. Lastly I dont see any A-Pillar Gauge Pods for the GTO as well, anything out there makes them? I do see the center dash pod which looks absolutely awsome and I do plan to get them as well. Sorry for so many questions but i just want to prepare myself in the right directions for the time being. :D

Any feedbacks would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm gunning for the Impulse Blue with the blue leather interior as well. :D

Welcome to the board,

To answer some of your questions, there arn't many products out for the LS2 mainly because the engine is so new, it is debuting in both the Corvette and the GTO this year, so you will have to wait untill the aftermarket gets its hands on some. If the LS1 is any inclination, then you could push the supercharger without doing any other mods as most kits include bigger injectors to run the supercharger. You may however want to throw in some heavier duty valve springs if you are going to try and push it to a higher RPM also.

For 600WHP, you would probably need to do some other modifacations also. The ATI can put down around 500+ engine HP on the LS1, so I would assume then that the LS2 would put down 550-575+ at the engine. With a tune, some long tubes, and maybe some other bolt ons you may get there. If not then you would need to dig into the engine a little bit. Some head work, or a cam would do the job and then some but I dont think you will need to. But again, the LS2 is a new engine so this is all guess work.

Havn't herd of the Kooks headers before, but many people are running SLP's and/or long tube headers for the best gains.

Hope I can help, feel free to ask more questions, but we may have to shoot you out of cannon for driving a Mustang. :afro: :friday:

Firstly welcome to the site. :D

As for the LS2, it is such a "new" engine that the aftermarket is having to catch up to it. BUT, being based off the LS1 it shouldn't be too much longer before the mods start hitting the stores.

Haven't seen much about Pillar Guage Pods. The center dash pod seems to be the place of focus at this time for extra guages.

One thing to remember, the GTO has barely been out for a calendar year. With only 15,000 or so GTO's even made the availability of aftermarket goods is not going to be of the level of a Mustang as you may be used to. There are a lot of things out there if you look around though. Plenty of stuff for the LS1 as I'm sure there will be soon for the LS2. Give the aftermarket a little time to catch up and I'm sure we'll see some cool stuff.

Sorry I'm not of much help, maybe some of our more tech savvy members may be able to contribute a little more than me. Again welcome to the board, keep posting and let us know when you get your '05. :D
