Just a quick point of correction. The GTO is NOT an F-body. Firebirds and Camaros are. Did you by chance mean LS1 V8 with a 6 speed manual?
As for the technicals of the M6 transmission, I'll leave that for a more technically apt member. :)
opsss.... sorry about that. yes i have a 2004 gto ls1 v8 m6. hmmm... i need to read more :type: thanks mike

Lol yeah calling the GTO an fbody is almost an insult.
Are you sure you are pushing the clutch in all the way, and is it during driving or off lights...give more details.
It happens when i'm at a light. It havn't done it recently. May i ask, what platform is the gto on? so i won't look stupid again :flush: thanks mike

...I'm unsure about what the technical name is, I know its also used for the Holden Commodore, and all the various Monaro rebadges. I can tell you that the new paltform will be called Zeta though. I dont think its currently shared with anything in the US so I just call it the GTO platform.

Look at the build date on the silver plate under the hood. Some of the early cars (built before Feb 04) had an issue with insufficient torque on the pressure plate bolts. There is a TSB on this, and could cause the issues you describe.
Thanks everyone for your info. I'll probable just bring it to my dealer and tell then what the exacted problem is. and again thanks mike
