I got the Goat all pretty and clean for a cruise into Corpus Christi Sat and I know the ding on the drivers side door wasn't there before I left. Right down to the BARE METAL!!! Friggn @$$ H***$! :jumpon:

I got the Phantom Black touch-up paint for free from the dealership but scared to use it. Has anyone tried using the touch-up paint? What should I do?

:(
same thing happened to my pulse red. I actually had to buy the touch up paint.
Make sure you have that section really clean. take the brush and make a gentle sweep through the chip. Leave it alone for at least 10 minutes then make another sweep at it. Keep doing this until you see the color fill in to match the original. Don't glob it, brush in a single direction. Mine turned out better than I expected. I somethimes forget where it was when I'm washing it.

HOPE THIS HELPS!

Sorry to hear that man...Good luck with fixing it.

I feel your pain btw, my car has been hit and run on 2 times in 2004, once in 2005 already.

People are jerks.

DONT USE THE BRUSH!!!

Take a paper match, and use the torn-off end to apply the paint very lightly over many coats.

The applicator brush is too large to do a proper job, especially on a black car.

And if it is down to the metal you should consider using some sort of sealer as well.

I know your pain. When I bought my Mustang back in '95 some jerk let a shopping cart roll right into it. The car was only 2 months in my possession. Here's some advice. Never ever take your Goat to the grocery store and if there's no way around it; don't shop on a windy day.

Anyway, I learned to live with the dings and scratches. Probably because the cheap arse Ford paint peeled from bird s*** the month after the ding incident. I was so frustrated that I stopped giving a **** about it and realized I was wasting my time after I heard about the Ford Taurus paint peeling and knew I was next.

Whatever you do, don't use the brush. I tried the brush on my black Mustang and it turned out like ****. Use the paper match idea or something like a magnifying glass and a very fine model brush from Michaels or a hobby store.

Could have been worse...

Sigh, I'm glad mine is fixed now... I still get angry as balls when I look at these. :jumpon:
