On the '05 GTO, does the hood scoopes serve a purpose in bring in more air to the engine? Thanks! :) Nocturn 02-23-2005, 05:15 PM In a way yes, they are not connected to the engine's intake system, but they do lower the engne bays air temperature, which creates cooler air going into the intake. It shouldn't let to much water in, unless its designers just decided to completely ignore the rain aspect. Carbon Fiber is lighter than Fiberglass, but check the weight savings before hand though, I don't think saving 5-10 LBS is worth an extra 300 bucks.
