I've had my 04 for about 3 weeks now. Its been a blast.

I had a REAL close call today with one of those "Super' Neons. I knew those *******s were quick... but it really gave me a run for my money.

He pretty much kept up with me. It wasnt until we hit about 110MPH were it looked like I was starting to gain a little. Couldnt really gain advantage, with traffic approching.

Having the GTO is a bit different than my C5 Corvette. I noticed people want to race A LOT more than when I was in the Vette.

I need more horses! Maybe a programmer & intake would be a good start?

Those things are quick, my first race a few weeks ago, one pulled off to the side of the road wanting to race, but took off before I got to him on a one lane road. I chased behind him less than one car length to let him know he wasn't getting away. I cut down at about 125 since there would be no chance to pass him in the oncomming traffic lane, and the road is heavily patrolled.

Looks like an '05 hood and grille with the so-called sport appearance package. Haven't seen any out yet.

The appearance package was installed by the dealership. They actually put them on ALL of the 2004 Models. Trying to move them out before the 2005 models arrive.

The hood, front bumper cover, and tires were all changed from stock by the dealership.

I was really gonna wait for an 05, but with the appearance package and some deep discounts on the 04's I jumped on it... although I would have really liked the LS2!

my bad... the front bumper cover wasnt changed out. Just the grills.

The SRT4 can give you a nice run if they are modded. They shouldnt be a problem stock though.

one of the guys i do business with has a 400hp neon. not exactly a push over, but again falls into the category of "it's still a neon"

Just dont get to ****y with em, I used to work with a guy that had one he only put in a few mods, but dropped the weight like 300 pounds, how I dont know. But thats what he said, he kept up with my 04 stock without a problem.

Don't get me wrong...I respect its swiftness but it's still a Neon.
