Met up with 4 other GTO's today at Cecil. 5 new GTO's in one place and probably only 30 cars total.
All of us wheel hopping like mad. I finally figured out how to launch....leave at idle. Ran a couple of 13.0's. Then rested a little bit. And then was rewarded with a new best:
12.85@110.33 :D
Best MPH was 12.99@111.09
Ran 9 times. For the first 6, all were about 4-6 minutes apart. Then a half hour cooldown. Then 3 more which were also 4-6 minutes apart. Those 3 were all 12 second passes.
Traction for the stock BFGs is non existent right now, hence the leave at idle. A little sluggish coming out but had traction.
More than happy :)

I wish I would have got that run on camera but after the whole tire incident I was ready to go home  . One thing I have to say is WHEEL HOP like a mofo LMAO. Also my last run on the flat tire where I was sliding all over the track(thanks to the race officials at cecil not telling me) I figured out I wasnt giving it full throttle on my runs and there was an extra 3 inches of throttle left :woot: . But at least NOW I have a good reason to get tires thanks Rob for helping with the tire.

Congrads Rob. Nice times. Good MPH.
Your RWHP looks to be around 418 HP if you have a full weight car and you weigh around 200lbs.
Now that's a number that don't lie. My favorite DYNO is the track.

Nice times, I'll be looking for an improvement myself next week at E-Town. I'll be running a stock converter until I get drag radials on though. It's sickening to look at this nice Vig 3800 just sitting in the box.....

When you take your car to the track at what point is it required to have a helmet? I remember reading one post of someone who only got to make one run and they told him no more until he came up with a helmet.

So you kept the car? Cool.
A Vig will definitely wake the car up, at least with a tire that can handle the stall. Loved my 3200 Multi Vig in the TTA :D

You'll need a helmet as your car is faster than 13.99. I didn't wear mine on one run and got flagged coming back. He saw the helmet on the front seat and said put it on or leave... That was on a 13.002 run.
Some tracks are more lenient than others but its a good idea to have all the safety items. They are there for a good reason :)
