Ok I think my wife is about this ----><---- close to letting me get a Supercharger.

What I would like to know is who makes the best - most HP and most reliable?

Please - talk to me :)

Boost scares me even though the LS1/2 is reliable . I am just going NA plus I dont know how reliable it would be on a road course like VIR.

ATI I believe is the most powerful.

My concerns/comments are this

AS PER VORTECH
The addition of the V-2 SQ S-Trim supercharger will increase horsepower from 350 to 481 and torque from 365 lb./ft. to 435 lb./ft. at 7-8 psig at the flywheel.***

.***Supercharged horsepower and torque data shown is a calculated estimate based on percentage increases from actual rear wheel hp/tq measurements. Ok why not post the "real" measurements?
And I am hearing a lot of bad things about Magnuson - anyone want to throw out some "real" proof? and not just some of the hearsay I have been reading?

And lastly It seems that the ATI is the best - but I have not seen any numbers yet.
And this does not sound bad to me....
This system installs in approximately half the time of other systems, with no need to punch a hole in the oil pan, replace the engine intake, or deal with all the complexity of an air-to-water-to-air intercooler. This new ProCharger system also has a much more attractive and "OEM" appearance than others for the GTO. Additionally, with the coolest charge air temperatures available, the HO Intercooled ProCharger system for the GTO produces not only the industry's undisputed largest power gains, but also the best engine longevity.
I hope you all can help me out here....

Well for one, I imagine they dont want to take an engine out and dyno it alone.

They do chassis dynos and then calculate the engine HP based on the increase in RWHP...I assume they calculate in 15% drivetrain loss.

Exactly ASSUME -- a** OUT OF YOU AND ME!

They did a dyno -- post the results! -- not what they expect at the flywheel! Hell I would take an average of RWHP!

I guess I just do not like how that reads...sounds sneaky to me.

Well dont they say how much RWHP it gained on the website?

Nope.

I am leaning heavy towards ATI!

Well I know you're leaning toward superchargers, but you should also look into sts's turbo. Makes lots 'o horsepower :)

A, convert your dual exhaust into a single exhaust
B, any turbo has turbo lag
C, ease of installation

I say stick with ATI.

Go the full bolt-on route first, you'll be much happier for it. Once you install some forced induction, you'll already have all the supporting mods you'd need anyway. ATI makes the most power, but wait until more people are running them in a GTO as there are the belt slip, and mounting issues that could still need to be tweaked a bit. Don't be the guinea pig. If you plan on running higher boost levels, pick up a pair of stock 6.0 truck heads(not LS2), the runners are almost as good as LS6 heads and the larger combustion chamber will drop your compression a little allowing more boost to be run safely.

Hey thejizzer, I would wait till you upgrade the drivetrain. I was looking my self and the t-56 is only rated to 400ft/lb and the drive shaft and cvarn't too far off either. I might be over cautious. I am looking into it. Although I am not sure why GM would produce a car that is so easy to upgrade and has so much aftermarket potential. To leave it where adding too much will put toomuch stress on it. But that is just me. I might be wrong. If I am too paranoid let me know.

I have to agree. You may want to upgrade your entire drivetrain. One thing about HP, the more you make under the hood the faster you will find the weakest link in the drive train. The tranny and the rear end are designed to handle the HP your GTO makes as a stock engine, one you radically increase the HP, you will be over straining the rest of the stock components.
