Up until a few days ago I hadn't had any problems with my GTO aside from some factory faults. I was coming to a stop and the car hit a pothole that made the ABS shudder and then my ABS and TCS alarm went off. The information center said ABS fault and the trac was turned off. It took about twenty minutes for the fault to clear up on its own. Has this happened to anyone else and should I take it to the dealer?

Sounds like the ECU has lost track of of a wheel speed sesor the severe jarring may have disloged a wiring connector. hope this helps. :type:

I have a 04 6sp, I have noticed almost every time I start the motor and go forward or reverse sounds like a tire rub on the drivers front, which I know that it is not. Is this the abs reseting its self ? sounds to be on the right side front. I talked to a service manager last week he said he test drove the 05 6sp that they had and thought he heard the same thing. anyone else have one doing this

I've had something similar on my work car (the f-word). If you get a rock or big enough piece of debries in the wheel, it coulda broke the sensor piece. Think its a relativly cheap fix.

The sam ething you described occured to me this winter when going up a steep hill that was snow covered. The T/C kept kicking in and out, the the ABS fault came on. The next morning it was fine and has not returned.

I have the same thing Lil' GTO describes. Every time I start up(when the car is cold) and begin to move forward there is a vibration and sound coming from the right front portion of the vehicle. It doesn't seem to be a problem at all....just wonder what in the world it is. I wonder if Holden tech has any knowledge of what this is???

The noise and vibration you are getting is the ABS performing its self test routine. The system doesnt do this until a speed of 2-7km/h is reached so that the wheel sensor pulse signals can be sensed by the controller. the noise is the controller activating the ABS pressure motor to check correct functioning.
