Anyone new to drag racing want to get together at Academy Race track east of Temple? About 1 1/4 hour north of Austin.

It will be primarily for Newbies to track racing. About an hour of instruction, rules, etc...
Then about an hour of dedicated track time.

Don't need a GTO to come, looking to get about 10-12 people.
We've got a few from another board, looking for more.

Im In Austin, probably won't make this one, but let me know when your going next, never been to any track except baytown, so it should be interesting. Just need to get my TA out of Htown.

A little too far for me... I wish everyone wasn't so far from me way down here in Portland/Corpus area.

Those in Austin or surrounding area should really take advantage of this. A chance to get your car out on track just learning the 1/4 mile.
I know there are a few out there, anybody interested just respond or PM me.

:( I haven't seen date or time? I'm from south texas, but I might drive to see some GTO's other than mine. Not many down here and wouldn't mind seeing a couple.

The last time I was at Temple Academy was over 10 years ago with GTA Trans Am. That's what divorce did for me. I'm in NW Austin & this sounds like a good chance to see what the '04 Goat will do in the 1/4 mile. Has anyone thought about doing the Texas Mile in Goliad or the Big Bend Open Road Race? Those events are more appealing to me. Would be neat if a few GTO's from our neck of the woods could do one of those together.

No date yet, we're looking for the interest first then set a date. It will be during the week, thats for sure. Only way to get an open track.

Kitt should be done within a month or so...I hope. I'd love to head out to the track and meet up with some GTO guys! :afro:
