Now, I must admit, I've only had the car a week, and prior to this I was driving a Saturn LS1 (130HP) automatic, so, I've got some growing to do on the stick.
This past Friday 4/9/05 on 231 on Long Island in Deer Park(this is a well known HUGE area for street racing, showing off etc, 100's upon 100's of cars on the weekend nights, like a **** movie). The area is overrun with ricers, and the 1 EVO was the only ricer that even attempted a race, all the others, and I mean ALL, would just whine past me and rev, but refused a race every single time. One of them pulled up, impressed with the car, but had the audactiy to say "Hey, is that a Sunfire?" I revved, and his jaw hit his lap... I put my window up in disgust.
90's Mustang: Came up next to me at a light rumbling, looked at me, revved a few times, I nodded... last I saw of him was passing me at the next light where I had been waiting to make a u-turn for a little while.
90's Monte Carlo SS: He and I had been toying with each other for several lights, when we finally lined up and took off, I was so far ahead I decided to slow down and let him catch up, he back fired as he went past me... lol.
New M3, close too close too call, he got a slight jump on me at the light (1/2 car length), and kept that slight lead until we were going nearly 100... we both slowed and gave each other a thumbs up, fun.
New Lancer EVO: The guy admitted to having work done after the fact, we started out even, and he was slowly inching past me the whole time, once I got around 75 I backed off and he kept going. What the hell can they do to those things?
:woot:
