Well just to let you guys know it took 2 days to get up the nerve to swallow my pride and post the a** kicking I received on friday. Anyway here it goes. I was cruising around with my brother and decided to go to the Plaza ( for those of you in the KC area you know what I'm talking about ) to check out the people. We drove around for about 15 min. and decided to jet. While I was heading back to my house I notice this car come flying up on me. I thought, alright somebody wants to play. It turns out to be a WRX STI. He pulls along side and does the 3 step process that always leads to a race. 1. The Rev. 2. The lurch (usually by a 1/2 car or so). 3. The nod. I figured what the hell, I've seen a couple of these cars run mid to high 13's and I would have guessed this was going to be an interesting test for the goat. When we got to a spot where traffic was clear he yells out the window, go on the third honk. I revved the goat to about 1500 rpms and when I heard that 3rd honk I blasted it. I jumped out to a car or two lead through first. My lead was pretty much the same through second. When I hit third he passed me like I had an anchor tied to my bumper. He pulled away by about 5 or 6 cars and held that lead until I let off. WHOA! I thought. What in the HELL just happened? I have one of the newest and baddest cars on the steet. This kind of **** should not have happened. I felt like someone kicked me in the nutz. We pulled into a parking lot of a local establishment and with a gut that was wrenching I gave the guy his props. He said that he had never raced an 05 and he said he liked my car. My brother asked him what his car runs in the quarter and he gets this grin and says its not stock. Last week at KCIR I ran a 12.60. I just cowered in shame. I told the guy nice car and told him we'll do it again sometime. He said sure thing. When I got home I couldn't even think. Then it hit me. I got on the internet and spent the next 3 hours doing research on super chargers. It might take some overtime and a little waiting for someone to get one built for the ls2, but there is going to be one on my gto and that's when I'm going Subaru hunting to get my pride back.

Nothing wrong with getting beat. **** I lost to a truck in my TurboTa. Nice to have found out the Sub was not stock.I know the feeling. You think with 400hp nothing can touch you. But someone always seems to have more or atleast a better power to weight ratio. Only takes a day at the track to find that out.
There was a Neon, last Gen Mustang and Rob's 04 GTO in the 12's at
my last track outing.Seems if you want to run with the Big Dog's might want to shoot for the 11's nowaday's.

Dont bother, there will always be someone faster, he payed money to make his car faster and thus he is. Your car is stock so its not like you lost to a civic or something. The STI would be a good race for a stock 05, let alone one that runs 12.6

I am much more interested in your 12.6 1/4 run :D
What was your mph? What mods do you have and how did they help?

:pain: Sorry to hear that...Maybe its just the first loss that stings so much?
It made a good story anyways. The fact is-impressive as the GTO is, you can still go a lot faster for a lot cheaper.
Also remember: Revenge is a dish best served (forced) cold (air inducted)... :P

If it wasn't modded I'd feel bad, knowing that it was has to take the sting off a at least a little bit. Besides he has to drive a Subaru, which is not a bad car, but not nearly as bad@#$ as driving a GTO!

Yeah, I've never understood why people get upset at a loss even when they know that the other person has mods up the wazoo. That's like being pissed that a 3 legged man beat you in an A$$ kicking contest. I mean, if you spend enough bank you can always be faster. Ha---I could mod my yugo with a jet engine and beat a McClaren, but it would only cost me about a million dollars or so. (actually about $1,000,001.50 because I would need a roll of duct tape to keep the doors from falling off). Point is, don't be upset about a loss if it was never a fair fight in the first place.
