Is it true you can "officially" order a Solstice today???

Yes, the unfortunate part is I already have all 5 of the 1000 orders filled.

Not a problem....I found out it was the "first 1000 thing" -- I will wait...I personally would rather not have the little emblem on the car.

How long past 1:00 PM(CST) was it when you put the 5th one in the system?

I think Pontiac is going to do well with this car, its a great car and seems to be having a good amount of press.

I would like to see a hard top convertible Solstice with all wheel drive for under $25,000

and maybe a little more hp

but, it won't happen

A, it wont EVER be AWD, B, Its doubtfull to ever be a hardtop convertible, and C, both for under 25K isn't feasible for the engineering that would go into it.

All I want to see is the 255hp S/C version as rumored(confirmed?), while hopefully remaining fairly cheap.
Although it would be really cool if pontiac stuck a little V6 in the upper model instead to differ itself from the Sky, but that'll never happen..

the 253HP turbocharged version will debut 6 months to a year after the launch, I expect a GT solstice to run around base model sky prices, with a GT sky running around 29K.

As for differentiation the Sky is going to be the upmodel of the two (reverse fbody), with the Sky comming with many options standard. A fully loaded solstice is around 23K, The sky will come with only a few options and probably start around 24K.

I don't think they will offer a V6 or bigger engine as it would upset the weight distribution further, and GM is wanting to put this one squarly on Mazda, meaning handling and fun to drive factors are the most important over full out speed.

The first 1000 orders were filled in 41 minutes, with rumors of all the preorders being filled also.

I got an idea, how about twin turbo V6 with hard top convertible, 20" rims, split duel exhaust, lambo doors and a 400 watt 14 speaker Bose stereo system.

Oh, and for under $30,000

How about that????? :woot:

Since when do Saturns cost more than Pontiacs?

Since they are moving upmarket, that and it comes standard with options on the Pontiac, simply makes sence.

We actually only got 3 out of the 5. 2 out of the 3 were for my customers, so I felt pretty good about that. It was tough getting them in because the server kept going down because it was hit at one time by so many people. So you just had to sit there and keep refreshing it. It took me 30 minutes until I got my first order in. Then the other 2 right after that. When the other 2 were put in it gave back a waitlist call, so unfortunately those people will probably not get the first 1000 cars.
