: Civic
RedSpeed 04-23-2005, 09:56 PM Got my GTO Sat. the 16th of April. I was driving on a 4 lane when a ratty Civic hatchback blows by on the left. He slows down and paces me for a short distance and the revs so I can hear the fart can. Then he jumps on it.He slows down and does this 2 more times and two more times I ignore him. Not broken in new car and the competition was not worth wasting my time with. Alitlle bit farther down the road I'm coming up on a red light and mr. Civic is there. As I'm getting closer I can tell the light is about to change so I don't slow down and get beside him as the light changes. I'm doing 40 him 0. So I rev the engine and then as I get past him throw the blinkers on to signify I crushed him in ricer speak. He revs hard and comes up beside me sounding like a P/o'd bumble bee and whips me the finger. Oh well it was worth the laugh. Only problem is there is now a guy on the Civic forum telling everybody how he crushed a GTO.

Yeah I second that...SeventhGenCivic.com...or something like that. :pain:
GTOOOOOH 04-24-2005, 09:28 AM found it... http://www.7thgencivic.com/
04GOATGERM 04-24-2005, 01:00 PM Thanks GTOOOOOH...I just had to show you this one thread from there labeled "How much $ have you invested in your Civic?" (http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208642)
What a waste!
GTOOOOOH 04-24-2005, 11:11 PM ROFLMAO!!!
"as for the 2 steps forward 3 back, yea its true, think about it, your taking something finely engineered and screwing with it with not so engineered parts ur bound to have problems like my lambo doors are a pain in the **** to line up and then the air escaping in through the jam is terrible"
It's nice to see them admitting that what they're doing is stupid. It baffles the mind however as to the thought process behind it. Some of them even say had they just waited and saved, they'd have the money for the cars they wanted.
To me, my GTO is a gift, for patience and hard work. I "suffered" with hand me down cars, a Saturn for 5 years and plenty of radiator replacements to have earned my car. Had I tricked myself into thinking my Saturn was something it wasn't, I'm SURE someone out there could have modded it for me. But in the end, it's a Saturn, or... should I say... Civic... if you get my drift?
I can tell you exactly what I'm going to do to my car in the next few years... racing stripes, a few vinyl GTO or LS2 or both badges on the side skirts, and maybe tint, that's it. Why change anything in the drivetrain or add anything else when the car, to me, is already perfect.

GTO or No 04-25-2005, 10:03 AM Always funny to see someone waste their $Its like a cult, those civic drivers. They have no lives, and don't go to church, and then worshp their cars. Soon they start thinking it can be a , ahem, "performance car" :hysterical:
Just like drugs. Civics are expensive and slow, as well as ugly and deadly.
GTOOOOOH 04-25-2005, 11:41 AM "finely engineered" That's my favorite. Granted, Honda makes a quality product when you pay for it. The Accord is a nice car, however, I beleive the Civic is the lowest model they make.
:zippy:

Dude, you hit the nail on the head there. I have been waiting since 96' to buy a new car and this is my last year of waiting. Every time, I feel as if though I am ready, something always comes up.
I am currently overseas and the only way to get one is fly into the US and ship one out. Shipping will cost me an extra $1000-$1200. I don't care though. The Goat is surely one of the best buys for 30K.
Scyry 04-26-2005, 04:00 PM Atleast someone over there has some taste:

gaga4gto 04-27-2005, 09:57 PM I've been in South Korea since '99. Over here, the most powerful engine here has about 270hp. And that is a 4.5 liter V8 :( Most of my kills will be coming from "hyped up" Tiburons :)

Yeah, can you imagine if these cars actually were fast? The 16-21 y/o population would be half what it is now...
PetersonPeleRx8 04-28-2005, 01:32 PM ROFL read what this dude that owns an RSX-X wrote. I had a decent laugh from this. (His profile name on that forum is VtecPimp, which should just about sum it all up).
Made a Z28 owner turn green
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I personally get off to making V8 owners feel stupid. They just really annoy me by always trying to showoff at the light, taking off , rear wheels spinning. I know I can't compete at the light, but on the hwy? If I catch them offguard, if they don't have much done to their ride, and maybe even if they don't know how to drive too well. ( we hafta know how to drive our cars at their best to keep up) Any ways, same hwy I come home from every night, **** near same spot where it opens into three lanes, I always run into cars that wanna take me on. I was minding my own buisness, thinking of whatever, and I look in my rear view mirror to see a green camaro coming at me fast. I was doing close to 85, in sixth gear ( my standard hwy cruise speed ) and he pulls up on the left. I look over, it's a z28, and I have never tried to race one. I have taken out a few mustangs on the hwy, some old some newer, but never even tried a Z. I was a little apprehensive. I dropped it into fourth, hit the gas, and kinda expected to be walked. To my surprise we hung neck and neck,( no traffic was in sight, plenty of straight road) 100, 110, fifth gear, 120( still close by) 130 in fifth and I actually pull away from the *******. I didn't let up untill I was at 135 ( still in fifth ) and he had given up. I normally don't do such stupid things like this, but it just really , really, got me curious, and once I started, you know how hard it is to back off. I waited for him, and he just looked at me, smiled, shook his head, and that was it.
I love his conditions for if he can beat a V8 Camaro, if the driver isn't good, he has no mods, and the engine is running weak. Haha.
04GOATGERM 04-28-2005, 01:50 PM I wonder where this was at. LOL...he said the guy in the Z28 just shook his head.
You can imagine exactly what he was thinking...
GTOOOOOH 04-28-2005, 02:25 PM What's the HP on an RSX-X?
PetersonPeleRx8 04-28-2005, 02:56 PM RSX-S has 200 HP. The same as my Acura Legend :) .
My buddie's girlfriend has one and I've driven it several times, they're kinda peppy but by no means fast, Nice car but not exactly a dragster. The Camaro should have walked him pretty severely, I believe the 0-60 for the RSX-S is in the mid 6 second range, so yah.
RedSpeed 05-09-2005, 11:05 PM It's funny this came up, I was living in Pittsburgh 3 yrs ago and had a Pewter Silver Z28, A4, with no mods. A friend of mines brother had a RSX type S that he had done a CAI and an Exhaust. He kept trying to get my friend to set a race up between us, because he could beat me. When I finally got to 1000 miles I agreed. His brother would only race me from a roll at 60, going downhill. He thought the race would be fairly even to 100 where his VTEC would crush my stupid old pushrod V8.
From 60-70 I went from my front bumper being equal to his back bumper to even. By 100 I had 8 cars on him. I let off at 130 and he was so far back that I couldn't tell what kinda car it was. I could tell that he and his brother were in a pretty good race, and they ended up calling the Maxima VS. RSX a draw.
A couple of weeks latter we went to Pittsburgh Raceway Park where he ran low 15's, and got spanked by the same Mustangs and Camaro's he claimed to be beating all the time. Best was when I clocked a 13.6 versus a 14.2 for an EVO that he bet would beat me.

has he ever admitted defeat?
RedSpeed 05-10-2005, 11:25 PM As long as his brother or myself are around, yes he will admit defeat. He then qualifies it with, pick one, Z has almost triple the engine size, Acura costs less, Acura gets better gas mileage, God loves Acuras and Hondas more than anything American. The only one he can't use is his is more reliable, he ended up having his car repurchased under the lemon law. It didn't have the same defect twice but ended up with something like 25 different defects. :o
