Older Civic, default kill and an older M3 kill

So, I'm MMOB, in other words, dodging and weaving in and out of traffic, and an older Civic pulls up next to me with a bus exhaust strapped to his trunk, like all the rest of them. Anywho, he looks my car over, has his g/f in the car, we both start off normal, and I, being the **** I am, while coasting from 1st to 2nd, revv to 4000 or so RPM's... he decides suddenly to slow down and stay a good 4 car lengths back until I had to exit.

Later on near my place, this older M3, late 90's, early 2000's is whipping in and out of traffic, so, I catch up, we rev a while at each other back and forth in and out of traffic, then, when it's clear, he guns it, well, I'm just getting into 3rd gear, and I had heard him shift into 3rd a few moments earlier so I knew he was either undershifting his car, or, or well he sucked. SOOOOO... we all know the 05 in 3rd is the devil, I don't even gun it, and I'm slowing edging past him, toying with him, he shifts to 4th and starts pulling ahead, I floor 3rd, hit about 88 or 90 and as I'm a car length ahead, back off and let him scream past me as I hear him shift yet again.

Yeah actually the '04 also...I call it "the hammer". If you're cruising 60-70 just drop "the hammer" and you'll know why I gave it that name! It'll pin you to the seat. :D

Aye!!!

I've had my '05 for about 6 weeks and I still sometimes underestimate 3rd gear. The first time I nailed it in 3rd I was on a road with a 45mph speed limit. After what seemed like a half of a second on the gas, I looked at my speedometer and could not beleive that I was at about 80mph. I nearly had to change my underwear after that!

I was thinking about 50 or so, 60-70 in 3rd, at least for me is rare unless I'm racing, by 60-70 I'm usually in 4th, usually.
