Hello, new member here, looking for a new car and have been stuck for some time between the GTO and, oddly enough, the RX-8. Obviously two totally different ends of the automotive spectrum but I can appreciate what both cars bring to the table.
I'm a young guy, like to (tastefully) modify my cars and what not, and what it comes down to now for me is how difficult it would be to move the GTO towards the better handling aspect of driving versus moving an RX-8 over towards the more power aspect.
I've recently downloaded all the Top Gear and Fifth Gear episodes containing the Vauxhall Monaro. I was seriously impressed with how much they liked it knowing their usual European-handling snobbery (which I really don't have a problem with because I like it as well).
My question is whether anyone knows exactly what changes to the chassis and suspension were made to the Monaro for the Vauxhall? It was mentioned in Top Gear that the chassis was tweaked for the European market, but they gave no details at all. And with as much as they raved about its' handling prowess it sounds almost like a totally different car than what I'm reading in the car rags here which complain about it's tracking ability.
